Soft Coating - Normal wear?

Hi forum.
I've had my Clubsport V2.5 for about 8 months. Bought it brand new with my DD2.
I recently noticed, the soft-touch coating is starting to peel/wear off at the right thumb-area. A small spot, but I'm somewhat surprised to see this already, even though I know, that particular area of the wheel takes a lot of punches. The left is looking like new...
I always use gloves, no exceptions, and I'd say I'm a moderate user. I think I've put 100-150 hours on the wheel since I got it. I generally have my FFB set to around 30-40%.
Anybody else seen this, and is this something to expect so soon? It's cosmetics/esthetics only, but I admit it's something I'd expect would happen to guys racing a lot more than I do...

That's normal when using gloves, yes.
