Firmware update doesn't work
Mirko Schneck Member
I recently bought the Wheel Base DD2, connected everything and installed the updated firmware to version 454. So far so good. I then carried out the firmware update and got a message: Fanatec Wheel is not found (see picture) so no firmware update was made and the base fan was restarted now runs at 100% base is shown in the driver but without function So everything again the same in green again the message Wheel is not found also with the recommended driver 442 the forced firmware update reset also doesn't work again the message Wheel is not found tried other drivers nothing works always the message Wheel is not found. Wheel base is detected in the game controller. Tried another USB port, no success, same problem don't know any further

Did you disconnect all other usb devices ( just keyboard and mouse attached). And reinstall?
also check device manager to make sure usb is enabled, windows might have turned it off, because windows right.
yes, all devices removed base is recognized as a game controller
Only other thing I would do is install to another PC/laptop and see if the problem persists. (If that’s possible)
yes, that would be helpful but unfortunately none is possible
Did you uninstalled all previous drivers when download the new driver? If not, uninstall en remove all driver and fanalab downloads and then restart your PC/laptop and download the latest driver and fanalab from Fanatec.com.
After this, start update your pedals first with only usb to PC and no other connection!
Then update your wheelbase without a steering wheel and without pedals attached.
After this put on the steering wheel (don't turn off the wheelbase) to see if it needs a update and after this connect everything (wheels, pedals) to the wheelbase when it's still on and check one more time if there is a update available.
Restart everything and this must help. If not, search in forums if anyone else has the same problem and if not you can contact Fanatec support (they are still very busy with all orders from Black Friday and it's almost Christmas time so response will take awhile I'm afraid)
there is a message in image that he needs set to bootloader mode, im assuming something todo with steering wheel firmware installation
I can try it again in that order
Don't upgrade your pedals via USB because a lot of guys bricked them with the 454.
bricked???

When I update the wheel base I get the message again
you need go to bootloader mode like message tells, but i cant guide you at there as i never had that message
I just updated my CSL Elite Pedals V2 with driver 454 and everything is fine. But you must connect it seperatly with only USB to a PC/LapTop, it can not be done within the Fanatec Control Panel and certainly do not connect your wheelbase and the USB together because that's how you brick it.
I can't guide you either because i do not know how to get in Bootloader mode, i am sorry.
ok but thank you
