Hi there, I am aware that you can not connect the RJ12 to the Wheelbase and USB to a PC at the same time because you can brick the pedals
But can you (without bricking the pedals of course) connect the RJ12 from the Pedals to the Wheelbase and leave the USB connected only to the Pedals without connecting it to a PC ?
This way you can disconnect the RJ12 connection of the Pedals on the wheelbase and connect only the USB to a PC when needed for an update so I don't have to dismount the pedals from my rig to connect the USB all the time to update the pedals.

So I can leave the USB connected to my pedals only and Connect the RJ12 at the same time to the Wheelbase without bricking it. Just wanna make sure, thank you.

My current setup is just this. I have the pedals bolted to my rig, and I wouldn't want to take them apart if I needed to use the USB cable. However I never updated the firmware. There's no point in doing this, they're just linear axles, and many have been known to brick their pedals after doing so.

And Alessandro yes I am gonna leave it like that but in case of an emergency update I have easy access. Now I have to unmount my pedals from my rig again, last time I hope.
I think it is good to know, that destroying the pedals is a power issue:
If you have your pedals connected to your wheelbase, the pedals get power from the wheelbase. If you connect the pedals through USB, they get power from the USB. If you connect both at the same time: Boom!
As long as the pedals get power from ONLY ONE SOURCE they are fine. You can leave both cables in the control module, but only ever connect ONE simultaniously.

But how come the Wheel base can connect to the wall outlet and USB at the same time and the pedals not, is that because the wheelbase has it's own transformator and the pedals not?
Because the pedals do not have a 5, 8, 11, 20 or 25 Nm motor. These are 3 Hall sensors that work linearly.
And it is also the reason why it is completely useless to update the firmware. They won't work better after the update.
That's not correct. Firmware Updates do improve the pedals and they do work better after the update, otherwise the pedals wouldnt need a firmware in the first place.
I am not quite sure about this, but I think there are different bus-controllers in the wheelbase compared to the pedals. For instance: I can plug two powerbricks into my MacBook and the MacBook is fine. It will just "ignore" one of them. So there is a controller managing the power. On that basis I believer there is no such controller in the pedals.

I also think any update for a device is needed if for example some tweaks are made to make something feel better or let's say a new mode comes available or something. My first update for the pedals is made, but i had no experience before with them because i am just steppin in so i can not tell if there was something changed or if it's feeling better. The update did not brake my pedals, that's one thing for sure i can say.
