  • If your Mac has an Intel processor you can by installing windows via Bootcamp or in a VM like Parallels. If you have Apple Silicon (M1, M2) you are out of luck.

  • Parallels supports Windows Running on M1 and M2..

  • Yes it does, but an Arm based Windows VM which won't run Fanatec's updater. So, like I said - out of luck. It's not a solution.

  • I can confirm you that on parallels the fanatec driver will fail to drive. There is no way to have it on apple silicon.

Hello! I came across this thread after purchasing a DD Extream and trying to update the firmware on my M1 Mac.

By installing UTM and building a VM with Windows 10 in virtualized CPU mode (QEMU), we were able to successfully update the firmware for DD Extream and the steering wheel.

  • Unfortunately, even when I connected the CSL V2 directly to my Mac via USB, the UTM did not recognize it, probably because it had no power, and I was unable to update the firmware.

  • Pedal was also successfully updated using UTM v4.6.3.

    Hello Atsuki,

I’ve tried several virtualization programs, including Parallels, VMware, UTM, and Crossover, but I keep encountering driver installation errors. Without the drivers, the FanaLab software doesn’t work for me.

    Could you clarify:

    1. Was it running under emulation or virtualization mode in UTM?
    2. Which Fanatec drivers did you install to make it work?
