Help with pedals in Dirt 2.0

I have CSL DD with pedals and WRC wheel. Everything is recognized in both compatability and XBox modes. The accelerator and brake are mapped as "inverse" in the game and the game sees them. Then when I start a stage neither one of them does anything. I can't start a stage. Everything is connected to the base properly and it works fine in EA WRC and F1 2023. I really don't want to buy a USB adaptor. Anyone experience this or have a solution??
