Mclaren GT3 v2 wheel issue (screen flickering/disconnecting)

I had an issue with the display flickering & losing shifting, buttons not working, it would connect/disconnect every few minutes or so, after searching the forums, trying to find the issue, and re-fixing the base side clamp, i tightened all the bolts on the QR1 & around the pins on the wheel, to no avail, i Re flashed the wheel firmware, still having the same problem. i had the 1st ping fail error when connecting the wheel.
the wheel is just out of warranty & pretty much has had minimal usage as i use other wheels for rally and historic racing.
i was looking at buying a formula v2x, when somebody mentioned uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, i did thinking it would not work, however, it did work!
it was a software/driver issue.
i hope this helps somebody with the same problem.
