Shifter connected with the USB adapter questions / help

Hello!
The shifter works without a problem if I connect it to the wheelbase.
Before I get a new USB adapter (used to have one but I lost it) I would like to know how to calibrate it and if it uses the Fanatec App. The last time I tried to do this (years ago, it was a waste of time and money), so before buying one again, I would like to know how it works.
Someone can share their experience, please?
Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out to us. It's great to hear that your shifter works well when connected directly to the wheelbase! To calibrate it, you’ll typically need to connect it to your PC or console through a compatible USB adapter. Fanatec devices like the shifter are often calibrated automatically when connected to the wheelbase, but if you're using a USB adapter, the calibration might require you to use the Fanatec Control Panel on your PC.
As for the Fanatec App, while it’s very useful for configuring and managing various devices like the wheels and pedals, the shifter itself doesn’t usually require it for calibration. However, the app can still provide helpful settings for fine-tuning your setup. If you’ve had issues with the USB adapter in the past, we recommend looking into a new one, as they are quite reliable nowadays and should work without any hassle.
We understand that you want to be sure before investing in another adapter, so rest assured, Fanatec strives to ensure a smooth user experience with every product. If you have any issues, feel free to reach out to us directly and we’d be happy to assist you further! Best, your Fanatec team.
