Unable to access brake force settings through steering wheel

Good evening. Asking this question on behalf of my son. Have tried the AI in FAQs but no joy.

We bought him a WRC steering wheel for Christmas. He previously used a McLaren GT3 wheel and through that he was able to access his brake force settings. However, through the new WRC wheel he cannot see the option in steering wheel settings (hope this makes sense). Would anybody be able to advise?

He's using a XBox.

Thank you in advance. Much appreciated.

Hey Marshall, The McLaren GT3 V2 steering wheel provides access to brake force settings through its OLED display, a feature not present on the WRC steering wheel, so it does not have specific brake force settings adjustable directly through the steering wheel. The tuning functions available through the steering wheel's LED display primarily allow adjustments for settings independent of the game, such as sensitivity and other configurations during gameplay. For detailed brake force adjustments, these would typically be managed within the game settings or through the Fanatec wheel base settings if supported. On Xbox, adjustments like brake force typically require connection to a PC via the Fanatec Control Panel, as Xbox lacks direct access to these settings. For optimal performance, ensure that the firmware is updated and the settings are calibrated according to the specific game requirements. Let us know if this helps, Best, your Fanatec team.

  • Thank you. Appreciate the reply. I'll chat to him about it and see if we can sort it out. I had wondered about how he'd manage updates. Best wishes.

  • What base do you have with which firmwares, what pedals do you have and can you make a short video showing the BRF setting available with McLaren and missing with WRC?

  • I'll check and report back, thanks. Going to try a firmware update this evening. Haven't done that before. Hoping it's straightforward.

  • Well, the firmware update has been anything but smooth. Now stuck on CAL / green light and the PC just says 'Please wait...'

Was it too much to ask that it'd just work?
