Help Please! Pedals Disconnected

Hi there, this is driving me nuts, so I really hope someone can help me:

In brief: I mainly play Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, using all-Fanatec Hardware. Here's an important bit: I only use Apple Mac and have absolutely NO access to PC! My CSL pedals LC, have stopped working completely and no pedal inputs are recognised. They are connected to my Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base (8 Nm).

How it happened: The light on my wheel base kept dimming, and the steering kept disconnecting. Here's where I think I went wrong: I thought it was most likely to be a sudden bad connection, or my foot may have accidentally dislodged a cable. So I removed cables from the back of the wheel base – whilst the system was ON! That's where I think I made the problem.

Everything seemed fine, so I just turned everything on and off a couple of times, and continued jiggling wires, looking for something loose. I found the culprit: The three-point power lead, had only slightly come out of its socket on the large transformer. When I replaced it and switched everything back on; neither the wheel or the pedals worked.

Since repeating the 'turning off and on' exercise, the steering wheel has now come back on, but the pedals haven't.

AGAIN: I do not have PC and cannot update Firmware or drivers. I never needed these when when I bought the gear and did the original set up; it all plugged in and played perfectly from scratch, with no need for drivers. Please help!

Hi there! We’re here to help, so don’t worry—let’s work through this together! It sounds like the power issue may have caused a communication problem between your CSL Pedals LC and your DD Pro Wheel Base. Unplugging the cables while the system was on could have temporarily disrupted the hardware recognition. Don’t worry, though; there are steps we can take to troubleshoot even without a PC.

First, ensure all connections are secure. Power off the wheel base entirely, unplug everything, and reconnect each cable carefully. Pay special attention to the RJ12 cable between the pedals and the wheel base, as a loose or damaged cable could cause the issue. Once everything is reconnected, power the system back on and check if the pedals are detected.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue, it might be worth trying to reset the wheel base by holding down the power button for 10 seconds. Since updating firmware isn’t an option for you on Mac, you could visit a local retailer or borrow a PC to perform the update if necessary. That step often resolves deeper connection issues. Let us know how you get on, we’re here to help if further guidance is needed! Best, your Fanatec team.

  • Hey Fanatec,

are you planning to develop a Mac OSX App version to do updates on your product? This would be great. Nowadays this is normal having different platform support.
