I recently bought the Wheel Base DD2, connected everything and installed the updated firmware to version 454. So far so good. I then carried out the firmware update and got a message: Fanatec Wheel is not found (see picture) so no firmware update was made and the base fan was restarted now runs at 100% base is shown in the driver but without function So everything again the same in green again the message Wheel is not found also with the recommended driver 442 the forced firmware update reset also doesn't work again the message Wheel is not found tried other drivers nothing works always the message Wheel is not found. Wheel base is detected in the game controller. Tried another USB port, no success, same problem don't know any further

uninstall the 454, and try 451 instead
but that fan should be run 100% after first time installation, to you cancel your update or something?
Unfortunately it doesn't work and I keep getting the error message
i hope you followed exact steps what update showed, like add steering wheel, remove steering wheel and soo on
because i have no idea what this error message is and it not happened for me.
Turn on base, install driver, in the driver itself the steering wheel doesn't work at all. Starting the firmware update doesn't work either because I then get the error message
to you added qr2 ? to you added cables correctly?
I have QR1 and the cables are connected correctly and nothing else is plugged into it except when necessary
Which driver are you using and how do you open the Firmware Updater?
Because what is shown in the screenshot is a completely wrong updater. That is not how the current updater looks.
I always have the problem when I want to update the firmware that I get the error message
Which driver are you using and how do you open the Firmware Updater?
there is a bootloader button behind, but i not needed push that soo something went wrong for you
yes, it's grayed out
???
hi Maurice Böschen
I'm desperate, I can't get the base to work
When you dont answer my questions then I am sorry but then I cant help you.
to you removed your steering wheel when you todo first time update?
no
maurice sorry
which question
well, you to need remove that. when you make base firmware update
The question I ask for a third time now: Which driver are you using and how do you open the Firmware Updater?
That is not true. It is not needed to remove the wheel when you update the Base Firmware or when you update the Motor Firmware. The wheel only has to be removed when you update the WQR or when you calibrate the Motor AFTER a Motor Firmware Update.
aqnstarted with 454 almost everyone else also tried 442
And how do you open the Updater? Because the updater in your screenshot is an ancient old one and not how the current one looks.
So you somehow simply open the wrong Updater and the question is: Why and how.
Firmware Recovery Instructions for Podium DD also carried out without success
I really think it is best to contact the support at this stage. Its most likely bricked.
remove the steering wheel and switch to bootloader mode
Yes, I did, but I didn't get an answer
CAUTION!
The Bootloader Mode will flash the Base Firmware which is included in the driver package.
It has to match the Motor Firmware, otherwise there is a risk of bricking the base.
ONLY force the bootloader mode when you know EXACTLY what you are doing, which the OP clearly doesnt.
It is best when he contacts the support to get proper help.
ok, but manual there is typed that
To initiate the firmware update the Podium Wheel Base DD2 first has to be
connected to the PC by USB cable and then it has to be switched to Bootloader
mode
Support has been contacted but unfortunately they don't respond :(
Where is it written like that? Thats totally wrong and can end up in a fatal error and I doubt its written anywhere.
Bootloader Mode is the absolute last thing to do when no other steps helped before and should only be done when clearly instructed to do so by the technical support. Its definitely not the normal way to update anything and in ideal condition NEVER EVER has to be used by a customer.
