BMW M4 GT3 : QR2 to QR1

Hi everyone,
I am planning to pruchase a BMW M4 GT3 steering wheel and I have a question regarding the QR.
Now it is provid with the new QR2, it's great but I want to stay again a little under the QR1 standard.
As this BMW wheel will remplace my current McLaren wheel, I would like to know if I can take the QR1 of my McLeren wheel and put it on my BMW wheel ?
Am gonna have problems with the small spacer ? The one we have to change when we swich from QR1 to QR2. Take a look to the photo.

No problem, just take off the QR2 Pro from the BMW and attach the QR1 from your McLaren to it. No need to change anything.
The new plastic washer ring is the way to go in the future for EVERY wheel and is completely independent from the used QR, it "just works" with both.

Regarding the firmware, my DD2 run with the 439 driver, can I run the BMW wheel with it, only makin the firmware update if necessary.
Or, the BMW will be running a more recent firmware which will require a driver update ?
I highly recommend to update the driver to 455 and update the firmwares for the best experience with the BMW.
Sorry for the double post but I realise I will not be able to make firmware update if necessary because the tool provided will QR2 ready and not QR1.
Actually the BMW needs at least driver 440 with included firmwares, so you HAVE TO update no matter what.
You will get a QR2 update cable as the wheel can not be updated through the Base. So you wont have a problem to update the wheel even with QR2 as the QR2 will be pre-installed anyway, just make the Firmware update first before downgrading to QR1 ;)

But regarding the update I look at the video tutorial and it show I have to plug the wheel into the base, then lauch the firmware udpater and finally uplug it using the USB cord to finished the update.
So regarding your explanation I do not need to plug the wheel into my base to update it, I can directly :
1) open the firmware updater
2) insert the QR2 update cable
3) press the button and connect the USB cord
No, the base has absolutely nothing to do with the update and that step can be skipped entirely.
It is enough to connect the update cable to the wheel, press and hold the right back button and then attach the update cable to the PC, the FW update will start automatically.

Ok, thanks Maurice, it took them a couple months before they realized they never sent me the QR2 wheel side (I was missing on "the list" or something like that). I wish they were as fast to respond to issues are you are :)
Reading this thread, the Update Cable for the QR2 is shipping the new purchases if I read correctly?

I would like to ask you again because I have a question regarding the ergonomics of the BMW M4 GT3 steering wheel handles.
A few years ago I used the Formula V1 and I was happy with it but switching to my DD2 I wanted a bigger steering wheel and I chose the McLaren in 2022. Unfortunately the latter but hurts my hands, in particular the ring finger and little finger.
This is one of the reasons that makes me look at the BMW M4.
How do you find its handling?
Isn't the little hollow at the bottom of the handles annoying?
Isn't the slight inclination of the thumb rest annoying either?
