I contacted them 4 days ago, and I'm still waiting. They haven't answered me, or written, or anything yet.
If I install Fanatec Driver 454 or another version, and put another update. Could the problem be solved?
My bad luck, I don't know why the hell I updated anything, everything worked fine. And what a bad mistake, without doing anything. Just update. Not a hit, break or anything bad, just update.

Knowing the problem, wouldn't it be better to avoid updating at the driver level? Or try to identify if it might be a problematic base in some way?
Or, at least, have a backdoor, such as putting the base in debug mode and being able to reinstall the firmware.... things that avoid unnecessary expense to the company, and a mishap for the customer.
Always the same with update problems.
@Jaime Asensio prepare the video that you will be asked for in support ;-)
But Maurice, if someone over the warranty, he probably afraid to update the driver, because can kill the base. This is a Russian roulette 50-50% work, or not. This is not acceptable in my opinion.
What would be acceptable in your opinion? There is no way to tell if a base is affected or not. This can only be seen when doing a Firmware update. If someone contacts the support, even out of warranty, I am sure there will be a solution with which both parties can live with.
Yes, I already have everything prepared, but really little can be seen, except that the three steering wheels do not work and only the Gran Turismo one works. They wrote to me this morning, just at the same time as Maurice did, and fanated asked me for the videos.
I have really been very lucky, as my base is one of these bases with problems that only appear when you update. What really bad luck, even so, it seems incomprehensible to me that Fanatec sells databases with possible problems when updating. It's incomprehensible. The loss of money that this will entail is enormous, because now everything will be covered by warranty.....
I've still been cursing my bad luck and I refuse to think that this is the problem. It does not fit in my head. I only did a Software update, how could it be that I have a Hardware problem???? I don't understand
As I tried to explain, the issue is a sleeping hardware issue of the WQR module which only gets triggered on a few affected bases when updating the Firmware.
Some few wheels still get recognized (mostly lower end wheels which dont need much power) but higher end wheels simply dont get loaded properly by the broken WQR module anymore, therefore the GT DD wheel. for example still works for you as it doesnt need much power but other wheels dont work anymore.
Just get in touch with the support to get the help you need.
Maurice, I am really very surprised with you, for everything you know. Everything you say has its logic and I understand it perfectly. Although I don't have the problem solved, knowing it gives me a little more peace of mind. I thank you for everything. You have helped me a lot today. I was very worried.
i think that xbox mode issue comes when user changes steering wheel between non xbox steering wheel to xbox one, when i change wheel sometimes that xbox mode not pop ups, soo i need take steering wheel again out and add back for make it work
same problem with xbox mode vanishing. was working fine, upgraded to 455 and now only pc mode and compatible mode appear. using csl dd and xbox f1 wheel. mainly doing iracing so not going to bother rolling back to older version, going to just wait it out for a new working version.
I have just setup brand new clubsport dd and mclaren gt3 v2 wheel. haven't even got to use it.
Then it showed firmware updates in the manager so went through the process. now the wheel doesn't work.
I might be wrong but it seems the base and qr updates and firmware ok but the wheel says firmware 0 with firmware 47 update available. But when i run the update it says firmware not found!
has anyone had this issue? can this be fixed by just adding the .eff file that is missing and manually flash the firmware?
I have tried all the recommended troubleshooting like uninstall driver pack
e and reset the game controllers to default tried an older driver etc but still no joy.
is this a bricked wheel can it be saved?
any help would be much appreciated i have contacted fanatec support.
Then that is a false message from the Updater. The McLaren does not have an eff update file and never will get one as it requires totally different electronics based on a different chip.
No. When the updater does not accept the file, then the updater is screwed and needs to be fixed from the software team in January. No other way to flash the FW.
Hi, I also got the error with WQR after updating to driver 455 and firmware. As soon as i start my DD2 and the wheel stops after the "start spin" the DD2 screen turns completely black and the firmware updater pops up, showing a WQR update but nothing happens.
I guess my base is also bricked now? :(
When I turn the base off and on again it seems to work tho... happens almost everytime. :(
take steering wheel out and downgrade to 2021 firmware and then upgrade to latest one ? or you already todo that? when i was upgrade to 455 i needed todo that
also if you WQR update gets stuck , by please wait message
i to little waited like min and then shut the base off and then i turned that on again for final v7 WQR update

Well, 4 days ago was christmas and the current waiting times of the support are between 1-2 weeks so they should come back to you in early January.
As I said, the problem can not be solved by using a different driver or firmware as it is a hardware issue.
My bad luck, I don't know why the hell I updated anything, everything worked fine. And what a bad mistake, without doing anything. Just update. Not a hit, break or anything bad, just update.

One question Maurice, do you think this problem would be solved by buying and changing the QR2?
No. You would need a new WQR module, only the technical support can do this.
Thanks So Much Maurice, What really bad luck

Unfortunately not possible. Affected bases dont show any kind of issue until the update started where then the sleeping issue is striking.
But Maurice, if someone over the warranty, he probably afraid to update the driver, because can kill the base. This is a Russian roulette 50-50% work, or not. This is not acceptable in my opinion.

Maurice, and one question more. Beacuse a Dont Undestand nothing.
Because the worst steering wheel I have, the one from the base DD PRO, the GRan Turismo Steering one works for me, and the others don't???

You do not need any .eff file for the McLaren. That wheel needs a .hex file!
Attached is the -hex file of the McLaren V2.
Check the "Manual Firmware Update" checkbox and try to load this hex file for the McLaren Update.
Thank you for the help but when i manually selected the file you sent, it says an .eff file is required.
When looking in the Fanatec firmware folder, there are various .eff files - would one of these files work? (Screenshot attached)
Is there any .eff McLaren files you have from where you found the hex file you sent?
Thanks.
Then that is a false message from the Updater. The McLaren does not have an eff update file and never will get one as it requires totally different electronics based on a different chip.
In that case you cant update it for now.
Will be investigated next year.
Thanks for the reply.
Is there anywhere else I could put the hex file?
No. When the updater does not accept the file, then the updater is screwed and needs to be fixed from the software team in January. No other way to flash the FW.

Maurice said this before, just click exit, and restart your base. This is a driver issue. Don't bother with it.
Thank you, maybe I overlooked his answer.
this not make sense at all, user tell that before update everything worked , for me it clearly shows , its a firmware update issue not a hardware one
No.
