Merging DD1 and DD2
Can this be done?
I understand that DD1 and DD2 have essentially the same motor.
I have a DD1 that seems to be working except the WQR.
I have a DD2 coming that was for parts in hopes that the WQR is good but its missing basically the entire housing of the base...I know the PSUs are the same and one difference on the rear is the board that controls power and such is green on a DD1 and blue on DD2 ...
So I guess I wonder is there a fundamental difference between them? I was thinking that maybe I could transplant my DD1 to a DD2 and everything function...just wondering

only way tell this if user owns both DD1 and DD2, by default some parts are separated from main board so it could be that its possible make work if take parts from other donor
if talk about WQR. it really depends what is broken at there, by default user just could buy new chip from electronic shop and re-solder that
if talk about motor, then they may be little different other way there would no point make dd1 firstplace
So my WQR firmware on my DD1 reads 0. I have a DD2 coming that is everything but the outer shell and the rear plate with all the rj12 connections. Possibly has a good WQR but not sure until i get it in and test., But wondering if I can use the rear plate on a DD2 or vice versa, if its unknown then I guess ill be the first to try lol
for lower the factory costs , they to may use same both for them, motor self is little another story, example adding little less coil and you have different Nm even if use same power supply
i think there was a post about it, the original motor for DD1 didnt meet quality control standards to the DD1 and DD2 motors are the same, i guess software is different...this is according to Boosted Media at the very least, im gonna try this...maybe it will be just fine, if not then I can return the DD2 parts and just throw-out the DD1
if you fail and there is nothing else todo with that then you can turn your dd1 motor into voltage generator, lol
The only difference between the DD1 and DD2 is the firmware used. Same motor, same processor chip used on the pcb.
There is a slight difference in the pcbs between the two to keep you from flashing the DD2 firmware to a DD1.
The peak output is controlled by the firmware used.
Theoretically, you could put a DD2 pcb into a DD1 and it would operate as a DD2.
I tried to use the DD1 mainboard on the DD2 and it reported back all the same information as the DD1 so its my guess that the all the firmwares are housed on this mainboard.
If anyone has a DD1 or DD2 mainboard that is known good I would like to purchase it lol
you need figure out what part is for wqr
Hey! I am in need of some parts for my DD1. Would you be willing to sell me the PCB out of the interior of the motor housing? Assuming this board is not the one you are referencing in your notes above. Looks like the picture attached. Thanks!
Honestly, I am probably going to sell the entire wheel base...im done dealing with it. I have a CSL DD, and bought this one on a whim, so more than likely going on Ebay. It has the WQR Error which I believe is part of the main board...anyways im gonna try and get what I paid of the base which was $400 so trying to get at least that out of it.
Hey. Up to you man. My plan was always to part out the base if I ended up not working. I’m willing to buy that PCB I sent an image of for $100 if you’re willing. Make 1/4 of your money back off 1 part. What do you think?
You know what screw it. Could you do like $110 to help with cost of shipping?
Just sent you a direct message
