Just download the two firmwares, open your driver, click on Firmware Update, Click on Open Firmware Manager, check the checkbox for Manual Firmware Update in the top right, click the Manual Firmware Update button, click the three dots to manually load the downloaded firmware, click flash, done. You cant do much wrong.
come on fanatec !!! i just installed the to drivers and i played an 1 hour with no problems i shut down my pc and wheel an now i want start another race and my wheel and base does nothing!!! i can put it of and only the logo is in the led dispaly of my wheel what the F.....
I could not make work any driver and the wheel with my PC. I installed it on my laptop the latest driver, had issue but after resetting it worked and one by one updated my equipment's firmware. After all update, I connected to my computer my base same error and none of the drivers worked. So that means on my PC none of the mentioned drivers works (tried 451, 452 and 455). This computer is also a workstation it would take me 6-8 working hours to reinstall and build it up again from scratch. Please Fanatec check my logs and figure it out what is the issue.
Fanatec log shows that driver can't install main driver in the windows registry, so suspect hardware issues with memory or SSD or faulty windows install (Fresh load of windows 11 may be needed if all hardware tests pass.
Windows 11: (Bit defender or other anti-virus software should be disabled or an exception created to exclude the Fanatec Driver from any scanning and interference of the install process).
1) Open windows command prompt with admin privledges
2) Type in "chkdsk c: /f" to check the primary windows drive for any directory / file corruption on SSD / HDD and have it auto correct.
3) Type in "sfc /scannow" to check all of your windows system files and have it auto repair if necessary.
I downgraded the driver to 455 having heard of stability issues etc. I have discovered that my firmware etc is that which came packaged with 457. So I'm wondering if I should go back to 457. I'm on pc and a DD2, so can anyone provide me a download link to 457?
Or is 457 completely fugged, hence why it was taken down?
Can anyone on the Fanatec side please give me a 457 link or even DM it to me. I rolled back to 455 and it doesn't feel the same. 457 was actually fine for me. I just rolled back as I heard it was supposed to be unstable.
My hardware working fine for years by now. I ran the 2) and 3) with the same error message. And of course, as before you asked I ran the install without internet (for safety reasons) with turned-off AV. Exactly the same error messages and behavior like my first message. I have exported a log again, might be that will help.
I turned ON Core Isolation and I was able to successfully install the 455 and seems all equipment was detected. I will be able to try out my set next week.
A quick question, I bought the 8nm base but in the software only showing me 6nm, do I need turn on something?
Good to know about that new Windows 11 feature / problem (Core Isolation) can interfere with driver installations as I have no experience with Windows 11 as my computer is incapable of running it, glad the user got all of his gear working now.
I always assume that people have admin privledges on their own computers.
I have CSL DD with 8nm Boost Kit along with CSL Elite Pedals V2 and CSL Elite Steering Wheel McLaren GT3 V2.
I'm primarily playing on XBOX Series X.
Is the Driver 457 sill the recommended driver package and the firmware comes along with it for CSL DD 8nm, Elite Pedals V2 and McLaren GT3 V2 if I'm primarily playing on XBOX?
If yes from where can I download it (couldn't find the direct download link in the forum)?
Just adding this to new thread, these FW combos below work in PS5 BLUE mode on PS5 without disconnects and PC mode in RED mode without disconnects. I was getting soft disconnects with BLUE PS5 mode with previous wheelbase FW, all else the same, and also on PC in RED mode.
So I was using LIGHT BLUE PS4 mode on PS5 which worked.
One bug is motor vibration is listed in the wheel menu on GT DD X when there is no vibration motors (that's a known bug).
And sometimes menu on wheel will not respond correctly. Sometimes text will overwrite other text on next or previous menu when you click left or right on the funky switch, like the previous text is not cleared correctly or something like that. It's not a big problem and usually clears itself.
Also the small menu button acts as an input on PS5 when exiting the menu, either X or O button, can't remember. Seems like it shouldn't do that.
Also the old bug where FFB stays on after you end a race, pulling wheel left or right sometimes, also a known issue.
I tested out GT7 yesterday for a few hours and not one issue. So 2.2.3.7 wheelbase FW is good for me so far on Windows 10 64 PC and PS5 with GT DD X. 👍
I'm just going to leave it like that till next public driver with all the FW fixes rolled into one package.
I have a DD+ on PC. I updated my driver to the recent 455 release and I am now unable to update the firmware on my universal hub 2. It states it cannot find firmware and is version 0. I was fine on 457. Anyone else know of a solution or point me in the right direction? I've looked into posts on this forum and reddit and haven't found any tangible solution.
I'm running 457 on with the Clubsport DD+ on PC without issue. The only request is for a solution to the oscillation caused when the wheel is not used when Natural Friction filters is applied. The oscillation start with any setting above 2 percent. I do recall a similar issue with my CSL DD 8nm with this setting on the older drivers.

If everything works…why change unless there is a big improvement with new driver…
Is there any downside to using ps4 mode until 460 comes out. Iv no experience with upgrading beta files etc yet.
When you have a PS5 then you should use the PS5 mode for enhanced performance like much higher USB refresh rate.
So yes, there are downsides of using the PS4 mode on a PS5.
Thanks. Is there a how to anywhere on how to download this new file?

Thanks for the message.
1, I could not install the 455 then where is the logs? If installed like 451 still where can I find the logs?
EDIT: attached logs.
2.The shaft is more out than the collar, I undo the screw, I am pushing back.
I will edit a bit later with Windows steps.
Sorry for weird question but can you please tell me is BLUE light on power button PS5 mode or is it WHITE one?
DD+ is base (gt extreme bundle).
On PC fanatec Software reads both these colours as only "playstation" mode...
As explained in the official manual / quick guide: Blue = PS5, Light Blue = PS4, Purple = PS Compatibility

what you mean as workstation? you do need have the privileges for install the drivers.

4) Would download and run a third party memory tester also "https://www.memtest86.com/"
Is there a way to get hold of the 457 version? I've got a Clubsport DD and PC only - and wish to use the latest Fanalab install.
Latest Lab does not need 457, 455 works just fine as well.
Ahh, thanks! 🙌

Great to see the new bases been used on the World Series surely there on a new more reliable driver it’s a good sign.

you need a privileges for install driver, Windows 11 focus a security
you may need disable the Core isolation, if that is already disabled then it something else what not allows install
Hi,
I turned ON Core Isolation and I was able to successfully install the 455 and seems all equipment was detected. I will be able to try out my set next week.
A quick question, I bought the 8nm base but in the software only showing me 6nm, do I need turn on something?
yes, there is linear mode, that gives only a 6nm. you need use peak mode instead for get 8nm

its not a problem realy but more like security feature what not allow install that easy the old drivers stuff

457 is no longer accessible due to stability issues. Use 455...which will be fine until the next driver is released (460).

FFB feels smooth and powerful as usual.

This issue is known for both CSL DD and CS DD and is under investigation to be fixed at some point in the future.
