We are almost at one year with defective firmware. Any better estimate, soon in a few weeks, this year, next year? I ordered some extra patience from Fanatic but they never shipped it.
Super. Thanks and appreciate the time you are putting into this. I am hoping it fixes the xBox mode. I can get my DD2 into xBox mode but it usually takes a few minutes reinserting the wheel a few times and selecting the 2 buttons.
It was a mis match with the driver 455 and the motor firmware who was 42
uninstall the driver 455.
then installed the base driver 439 (with motor firmware 42 included
then i pushed the power button for 10 sec for flash menu
then flached the motor firmware
restarted the pc
Install driver 455, and then in fanatec install manager menu the software updated (push only the green update button. Then it goes automaticly
The problem was a base fan blowing at 100% and the wheel turn 100 degrees ( then the base was not visible in the fanatec menu) and was no update possible)
it was a struggle to find out what it was.
and now in the future always updated the base first and then the rest
If Motor firmware is 42 or older (Likely happened while upgrading to the new driver 442)
1. Install the older driver you came from or wanted to go to again
2. Base is turned off
3. Press and hold the power button of the base to turn it on and force a base firmware update.
4. Firmware updater will open, follow the process of flashing the firmware
5. Base should now be working normally again
In case you want to upgrade to driver 442
6. Install driver 442
7. Update the firmware using the green button of the firmware manager, this will perform the update in the correct order.
"and now in the future always updated the base first and then the rest" -> This is exactly the wrong way. When a new motor FW is available (which is very rarely the case) then the motor HAS TO BE updated FIRST before the Base! This is crucially important.
