DD pro and formula 2.5 wheel possibly power/static related issue

I have a Fanatec Gran turismo dd pro bought (2 weeks ago) and noticed since when I first installed my wheel the wheel does not turn on, I have a Fanatec Clubsport formula v2 and the center led screen does not turn on when I attach the wheel to the base neither any of the buttons work in any mode or device (pc or console) I'm using the latest drivers on both the wheel and the base (also the rest)

Things that I tested:

  1. If I connect the wheel with the QR2 wheel side but without any screws attached everything works
  2. If I connect the wheel without the QR2 wheel side everything works too
  3. I tried to test using the wheel just with the QR2 Wheel side attached without the screws for some time (without any games, just to test the buttons) and noticed some buttons sometimes are not working when pushed
  4. A friend of mine had the exact same wheel (Formula 2.5) so I borrowed his and the results are the same, he has a Gran turismo dd+ and both his formula wheel and mine work as expected
  5. brought nylon screws the same dimentions as the ones that come with the QR2 wheel side and the wheel is turning on now but still some times the buttons simply are not working for 2 to 10 seconds (occurs randomly and not consistently)

Based on my tests I suspect it can be a problem related to the base power/static or even electromagnetism since only when aluminum screws are attached is when the problem is worse. is there any way to fix this issue?

you have v2? with this metal center circle holder? i think all the new ones use now the plastic one instead

so maybe your issue is at there

  • Sorry wrote it wrong, it's the V2.5 with QR2 metal wheelbase

aluminum self should not be affected to the electromagnetism at all

perhaps just perhaps, you have there long bolts what holds this QR2? and they connect inside to something what they should not

also have you try 455 drivers?

there been reported before the static issues , how and where is you base self connected?

if you using cockpit, to you have there any third party products connected what could affect the static?

people been using plastic washers for avoid connect directly to the cockpit

also does you bolts inside QR2 is tighten, some people been get the products that they been half open

  • I thought that could be the issue so I tried outside the cockpit using an acrilic table (as the one in the photo) and the same issue occurs, I used the screws that came with the wheel so I guess that's not the issue, I have tried 455 drivers as well as 462 but the issue still occurs with both

  • another thing to point out is that I have a multimeter and noticed that there is current escaping through the QR2 bolts (do not remember how much) but was enougth for me to feel a small shock when touching with my bare hands, another thing that I checked is that the usb-c inside the wheel base is outputting 180 volts which seems like more than expected

i see, you have issue with your pc/ps then, and neutral is opposite based with you pc/ps vs DD pro

or base power supply self is faulty

  • I did the tests with the base not connected to anything, sorry I've not being clear :/

the usb-c I mentioned is the one inside the base (that connects to the QR2 base side)
