Advanced Paddle Module not working on PS4
Hi everyone,
first of all, I'm new to fanatec products. I used to play on a Logitech G25 for years, so I'm a little overwhelmed. I looked for hours for someone with a similar problem but could not find anything.
Here is what I recently purchased:
CSL elite PS4 wheel base, CSL elite pedals, Universal hub for XBOX One (and a fitting rim) and the advanced Paddle Module since I wanted a hand clutch.
I set everything up and switched the paddles on the hub to the advanced ones. Initially I connected my PC and had a look at the function test within the driver. The shifter paddles seemed to work fine and did trigger correctly. The upper paddles and the clutch didn't seem to trigger anything but I figured maybe they just don't show in the GUI.
I connected the wheel to my PS4 in the blue mode and tried Assetto Corsa and PCARS2. In both games using the paddles and the clutch did not do anything and I wasn't able to assign any controls to them. The other hub buttons work fine. I figured the additional controls (upper paddles & clutch) might depend on the game but I thought at least the main shifter would map to L1/R1 as the onboard shifters of the hub would do according to the manual.
Is there anyone who can maybe chip in and tell me what the issue might be? I could not find any documented incompatibilities regarding these games, the console and the stuff I'm trying to use.
Thanks in advance for any sort of tips or hints,
Markus

What driver are you currently running on your PC?
Looks like you used an old driver with old firmware that doesn’t support the APM yet.
I installed the 64 bit v328 drivers I found on the PS4 wheel base page. Within the driver I checked the firmware and everything said the components are up to date.
Thank you for your quick reply.
thats your issue, for the APM you need at least (!) driver 336 with the included firmwares which you can find on the download page of the APM.
Thanks a lot! I'll give that a try! I didn't realize there was another set of drivers.
Yes, the firmware update indeed solved the main issue I had! Shifter paddles and clutch are working flawlessly now 😀
Only the upper smaller paddles still seem to not do anything. In this case I'm wondering if they just don't work on a PS4 or if they simply don't work with AC or PCARS2.
No, the BME is not Compatible with the CSL Elite PS4 Base at this moment.
Is there maybe any final info you can share about the compatibility of the upper paddles on the PS4? I'm just wondering if there is anything else I'm missing or if it's simply in the hands of the game developers at this point.
Connect your base to the PC and check there if all the paddles of the module work. If you see in the driver the buttons register it’s most likely a PS4/Game related issue and the game doesn’t support the extra buttons (yet).
In the beginning had the same problem on PC. The driver detected the buttons but F1 2019 didn’t recognize the buttons. Only after new update of F1 2019 I could use the extra paddles.
Yes everything is working correctly in the driver window. So then I guess I will put my hopes into Kunos that they will support the additional paddles when they release ACC for the PS4. 😁
Thanks for all the help.
