Hardware compatibility PS5
hi all,
Finally put the savings aside to make a big order to Fanatec and plan to use both pc/ps4 so compatibility is a big plus for me. Ony recently started reading about PS5 and people discussing the big G27 - G29 fiasco a few years ago. Does Fanatec have any information on PS5 compatibility or is it too early to ask? Thanks a lot!

The console hasn't even been released yet. It's hard to know that if you don't have anything to test with. First they need to get the current problems fix before they can even contemplate some future product.
I'm sure Fanatec already have a developers kit and are testing hardware for the PS5 to be ready for launch later this year.
I ended up ordering a csw 2.5 and the drivehub, **** sony and GT hahahaha
Exist more information about compatibility with Playstation 5? 😎
As long as the PS5 officialization is not validated, I will no longer buy a FANATEC product even if I need a V3 crankset and universal hub.
Surely by now (August 2020) there should be some word on compatibility. PS5 is due to be released in about 3-4 months (Nov-Dec) from now isn't it? I find it very hard to believe sim racing hardware developers haven't been in contact with Sony and vice-versa to advice on what would be compatible or not. It would be impracticable for Sony to release the new console that would be incompatible with existing sim racing hardware or at least those released in the last 1-3 years or so.
I myself am waiting for news of compatibility in order to determine further purchases I'd like to make rather than taking a chance only to find out by then the expensive stuff I would have bought turns out incompatible. These things not exactly cheap. Why can't we get news on what will be compatible or not yet? C'mon now.
Have you tried asking Sony?
No. I don't have a direct line with Sony nor that type of business relationship as a sim racing hardware developer. I nevertheless think it would be beneficial that they have that kind of relationship and communication lines in the interest of both.
Good news: https://blog.playstation.com/2020/08/03/playstation-5-answering-your-questions-on-compatible-ps4-peripherals-accessories/#sf236479110
Sony stating that: Which existing PS4 peripherals/accessories will work on PS5?
I mean it is not entirely sure yet, since no specific brands/models have been mentioned by sony, but it's the first news on compatibility and according to me it isn't bad news.
