Yes first it booted into xbox mode and i switched it to PC mode. I've got it working again.
Uninstalled fanatec driver and fanalab
Rebooted
Installed driver 381
Rebooted
At this point my pedals are showing up but the wheel isn't
Start the wheelbase in update/flash mode by holding the start button for 10 seconds (with the one blue light)
Flashed the firmware
Rebooted
Now the wheel shows again. The wheel property page is terribly slow, it's almost unusable because everytime i click on it, it goes on "not responding". With fanalab everything is smooth but it would still be nice to get the wheel property page working properly again.
I have a question which is more procedural than technical. I am an IT guy for all my life and I cannot figure out why you have a thread in this forum called 'Official Driver Packages' and nothing is ever posted there.
This thread right here is for the version 381 RC as in release candidate. From my point of view a RC is not ready yet for production, let alone any Beta driver. Yet, the Betas in the Beta drivers thread are also treated as if they were production, but never turned over as a production release.
Interesting enough, I started iRacing and it looks like the wheel and button inputs all work and is not laggy at all. I just can't change the properties in the tuning menu. I am receiving feedback thru the wheel but the force is at 35% (all the default values that I cannot change) - so it's very weak after this update.
Guys, this really feels like a software issue.... Is there anything else we can explore?
You already tried to reinstall the driver, re-flash the Base and WQR Firmware and nothing helped. When WQR FW stays at 0 it looks like a hardware issue, not a software issue and it might be best to open a support ticket.
Uninstalled, rebooted, installed newest drivers, rebooted, updated firmwares, all with the base turned on all the time with no wheel attached.
Then attached the two wheel that needed firmware updates and flashed those as well.
Everything went smooth and works perfectly.
One question though:
I remember that at a certain time (a few drivers back) the button combinations for wheel and shifter calibration and switching modes between PS/XB/PC, etc ... on the Xbox hub changed but I can't seeme to find that info back.
Can anybody tell me where to find those button combinations for the Xbox hub?
Did the button combinations also change for Fv2 and PBME?
I tried that several times......still 0. So could someone please explain how this happened? I was racing just fine minutes before upgrading to 381 and right after I upgrade my hardware "suddenly fails". Yeah right. Thanks fanatec. Well done on bricking yet another base.
McLaren GT3 wheel shuts down CSW 2.5 when connected.
I raised this back at the time of release of drivers 380. I was told to monitor, re-test on previous drivers/firmware and report, which i did but with no further acknowledgement.
I confirm that a: this still occurs with 381 and b: it still does NOT occur with previous 373 drivers and firmware firmware.
I am not an electronics whizz, but I am assuming that if the problem was hardware (such as pin's shorting out etc) then this problem would occur with any version of the firmware?
I reiterate that the wheel appears to be recognised and behaves normally, once the base is powered back up again. It is immediately upon detection, when live swapping wheels, that the CSW 2.5 shuts down. no other wheels cause this.
Maurice and/or Marcel I really would appreciate some acknowledgement of the feedback I was asked for. If there is other data I can provide which might help, then fine, I'm happy to do so.
ClubSport Wheel Base 2.5 with Podium Steering Wheel Porsche 911 GT3 R:
PC Driver: 381
Wheel Base FW: 680
Wheel Base Motor FW: 22
Steering Wheel FW: 15
Podium Hub FW: 4
So far eveything feels great, the only issue would be on Fanalab V1.53. When turning on the wheel base, ITM is off on the PBME. So I need to manually disable ITM on Fanalab V1.53 and enable it again. Then ITM shows on PBME.
Hi. What I have seen is that with this new driver every time I turn on the pc I have to go to the settings and activate the mouse because it does not work for me. I miss something ???. thanks
Testet the 381 driver for some hours now. On a CSW v2.5. My very first impression are good. Feels very precise and powerful. I think it has a better responsibility.
I'm a drifter on AC and when it comes to drifting the 381 driver seems to not be good for self steering and letting the wheel do its thing. Feels like the smoothness is gone for drifting. Didn't change anything else on AC's side and I've set my old wheel settings.
DRI 1 on 381 feels like DRI 4-5 on 346.
If I don't catch tne wheel in time it starts to wiggle. No issues on 346. Strong and smooth but not as precise as 381.( I'm also racing on ACC with a formula wheel)
When I'm drifting I'm on the universal hub with a deep dish wheel.
I'm having the same issues CSW 2.5 it looses FFB it feel like very little FFB after playing randomly. If I shutdown sometimes it works and sometimes not. I rolled back to 380 and it didn't work. I may have to back to 374 .
Very disappointing! I downed loaded the new version of Fanalab at the same time. May I ask what version your running? I really wanted upgrade to DD wheel this from the V2.5 but, I see they are having issues to. I love the feel of 381 compared to the 373 when it works. I can feel the car sooner when it starts to go. I can't understand why a company as big as this is having so many issues with firmware. They make great harware but, still lacking in the software department.
Never had any problems with my DD1 with any version of the firmware or FanaLab, or when I owned a CSW v2. Sometimes it's your own PC or Windows that can cause the issue.
Podium Racing Wheel F1 and PODIUM STEERING WHEEL PORSCHE 911 GT3 R
So I upgraded to the driver v381 and firmware upgrade was ok on base, motor and PBME.
When I attach the Formula wheel and open the Fanatec Wheel Property Page and accept the pop-up with the firmware for the wheel, the wheel vibration motors starts running constantly. Steering wheel firmware on the Formula wheel is 28.
Someone wrote at some point in these forums that one should not update the firmware on a wheel when the vibration motors are running. Is this still true or not?
I was hoping this update would fix the random thumb/jerk on my DD2, but it's still there.
I have it both during iRacing and ACC. It's 1 big hard thumb and then it's back to OK. It's feel like hitting a huge curb at high speeds.
Also when playing iRacing, the steering wheel lost it's forcefeedback and went very heavy after about 30 minutes of driving. First I had about 3-4 thumbs every 5-10 minutes and then the steering became very heavy without a lot of feedback.
I hope you guys can fix this with a firmware/software update.
But it doesn't have anything in it. If 381 has been released and posted as full stable production - shouldn't it be posted in the "Latest Released Drivers" thread?

You made sure you are in PC mode? With a Xbox wheel attached the base defaults into Xbox mode after a firmware flash.

This 381 RC was released on all webshop pages as a full stable driver. It does not have Beta or RC status anymore.
I did that. The firmware updates with no issues at all but it remains at version 0.
How do I roll back to previous version?
381 seems to have bricked my DD2. Unreal.
In this case it's best to contact the support to start a RMA then.
Interesting enough, I started iRacing and it looks like the wheel and button inputs all work and is not laggy at all. I just can't change the properties in the tuning menu. the last thing you could try is flashing fws of an older driver again, but I doubt this will fix the WQR issue you have unfortunately.
Good morning,
Only by chance I think i have found the Problem, but it must be fixed in the next Version.
When i start the driver, the Buttons for the „Test Rumble Brake“ and „Test Rumble Throttle“ are not there.
After that i push the Brake and hold it and in this time i go to another Tab (for example „settings“)
When i klick after that on the first Page you can see the buttons.
After that you can check the Rumble. Now it works.
But when you start the driver again, you must do that procedure again.
Using DD for PS4.

Hy Guys.It happens to me sometimes to lose the ffb giving me the feeling of broken bearings.
I restart the base and it goes well for hours.

Hi Maurice, have you fixed the thumb encoders issue in the 381 RC? I reported the issue 24/11
I dont fix things...:D
But yes all thumb Encoder issues should be fixed as you can read in the Changelog. Please give it a try.

No that's not true. You still can upgrade the firmware when the default firmware is loaded properly in the bootloader.
I rolled the driver back and it's fine. I like the feel of 381. I wish Fanatec would read these and respond.
Maurice Böschen
This is supposed to be the official driver correct? There are a few people with this issues on this and the last driver.
Any help?
I was hoping this update would fix the random thumb/jerk on my DD2, but it's still there.

I think what Boris was trying to say was that there is a forum thread under "Official Driver Packages" called "Latest Released Drivers" (https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/602/latest-released-drivers-bookmark-this-thread-to-be-notified-of-new-uploads#latest)
But it doesn't have anything in it. If 381 has been released and posted as full stable production - shouldn't it be posted in the "Latest Released Drivers" thread?
