I have a F1 eSports wheel and the left side grip has snapped where it screws together, I've only had the wheel just over 1 year and for how much I have paid for this I'm very disappointed. Any suggestions on a fix because it feels unusable. Any help will be much appreciated.

contact the support and they will replace the wheel for you.
Will they still give me a replacement even tho I've had my wheel since Oct 2019 which make my wheel 14 months old. Thanks for you help.
you have 24 months of warranty. The date of the invoice is critical.
So yes, if the wheel is broken then you should get a replacement.
Thanks for your help Sascha π it's much appreciated I've sent a message to support.
Quick update got a reply from support and their solution is to change me €34 for for a new grip which I think out of order and it better be a full set. I've paid because I have no choice but for what I have paid to fanatec for my gear it will be my last purchase from this company. Lost another customer.
So if you buy a car and the steering wheel grip fails (because of use) and they charge you an amount they will loose a customer because their spare parts have to be paid because they might seem to you expensive? π
that seems more than unreasonable to charge you for the grips imo. Are you still under warranty? If yes, I wouldn't pay for this tbh.
I was told I got 24 months from purchase but I've only had it 14 months.
I'd expect if I bought a car and the steering wheel fell to bits within warranty, which I thought I still had. They would replace the items that broke. These aren't cheap wheels and would expect them to last. We all not made of money I can't justify buying new every 12 months.
If you are within warranty it is unacceptable. But if you are out then the cost is 34 euros.
Check again for the warranty period cause it defers from country to country. So the 24 months that was mentioned above might be only 12 for your country's market region.
Check what is mentioned in your products page as warranty expiration date.
First thing I did but its just blank not sure if that means I'm out of warranty. Someone earlier in the post mentioned the 24 months warranty. Be good if I could get hold of some 3d files then I could have just printed some new onesπ
If blank it means for some reasson you didnt tegister correctly the productly or it was bought as a bundle (which again it is strange) not mentioning the date.
Did you buy direct from Fanatec or a re-seller?
Ye Direct from fanatec it was the F1 eSports bundle, But that shouldn't affect warranty. I've paid now for the parts but no clear answer about warranty length just here say bit of a poor service really.
If it was bought directly from fanatec then serial numbers and invoice should have been updated automatically and warranty expiration date shown in your products page.
Reach out to the webshop and attach the invoice from fanatec and ask them what is the warranty, why it is not showing in your product page and IF it is still under warranty then ask for refund. π
UPDATE: My wheel has totally snapped now even the frame inside after only 18 months with minimal use (1-3 times a week) I think this is ridiculous. I have saved my hardest to get this wheel and pedals and I feel totally let down by the product and the company.
Hi Nigel,
I discussed this case with support. We sell a huge number of Formula wheels, and this is the first time we have seen this type of breakage on this product. It could only happen as a result of extreme stress on the lower part of the rim. It is very likely that the first grip problem you reported in January had already damaged the internal structure, and then it continued to weaken through further use.
The support team has already responded to your ticket, I'm sure this will be resolved soon.

What? When a car is still under its warranty absolutely everything from bumper to bumper is covered unless it's something like a windshield or tyres or something like that , but you can bet your ass a structural component would be covered under warranty. And mate this isn't the grips falling apart, it's literally the main frame of the body, you can bet your ass a car dealership would replace a steering wheel that broke in half. But of course you find people in here excusing this behaviour from fanatec of not upholding their warranty. *The aluminum frame fkn snapped dude, thats just shoddy materials*
Source- am Toyota mechanic and I replace lots of shit under warranty all the time, even if it's obviously a customer mistreating the product because Toyota cares about repeat customers and making a product that lasts.
Don't let them get away with this shit! They charge a premium and deliver this quality?? This was obviously a fault within manufacturing of the metal, proper treated aluminum of a good enough composition should never ever snap like that, ever!
This is under warranty and you know you've taken care of your expensive products, dont let.them pin this shit on you. (They're even already blaming it on you publicly, if you think about it they're calling you a cheater already by implying you've mistreated the product and are trying to claim warranty)
Unacceptable
Read the whole thread and all of my replies Mr. Toyota mechanic before quoting just for the quote....
He was discussing regarding the grip. Then he didn't know if he was in the warranty period or not.
Which I said IF it was inside the warranty it was unacceptable to get charged and to ask a refund. π
The full snap wheel came later... π±
Read all posts first. π
And by the way... TOYOTA or any dealer IF you are out of warranty they charge you an arm and a leg for parts or man hours when they replace... At least in my this part of the world.
Problem all solved. Thank you and what a great customer service I've had, I would like thank all that was involved in fixing my issue. Your all great π₯
Glad to hear that Nigel! Happy racing!
