Not really that different - Fanatec clearly has a less powerful, smaller DD wheel in development - advanced enough that they have working prototypes. Granted, some licence has been applied in the April Fool description of the development process so that we all fall off our rigs in hysterics - I know I did.
And the price of course will have been the funniest bit. I would imagine that if and when the smaller DD wheel appears it will be double the price of the April Fool version. And I don't find the name that unbelievable either, Fanatec love their decimal naming conventions, CSL Elite 1.1, CSW 2.5, Handbrake 1.5 - why not a DD 0.5? Seems more likely than DD3, their other option might be to call it the DD Kompact, I think I prefer 0.5. :-)
In fact the more I think of it, the more convinced I am that this April Fool joke will be referenced in the eventual product release - 'you all that we were joking but we've actually gone and done it....'
I'm pretty sure this is real as well. As well as the BMW Fusion SL concept, Flux Barrier isn't a joke, as may have been thought, and carbon fibre can be used inside, (not as part of the stack, but perhaps motor housing) but a way of reducing the number of magnets needed inside the stator/motor, and or reducing torque ripple.
I seriously hope this will be released soon and compatible with PS5. This money is burning a hole in my pocket with no CSL Elite to buy.
If you seen and video's where the open a DD1 or DD2 you know that this thing doesn't look right, there is no way they can fit all that stuff something that short. I do love how all the people that believed it was true are so offended that its an April fools joke. All I here in the back ground of my mind while reading some of these posts is babies crying.

I thought April's fools jokes were meant to be done in a way that they are remotely believable........
I hope this is not an April fool's post. I sold my wheelbase to buy this one!

I think it is no Joke .
To See on the Fusion Sl at 5.12.20
completely different, and they wouldn't call it DD0.5...
