Getting a dead wheel on DD1.
I'm having trouble with my dd1/F1. I get a dead wheel and nothing works and I have to turn it off and on again. It's done it midgame also where its just like the engine turns off. The game doesn't say its disconnected though, just nothing works. It seems to do it a couple of times and then is OK. It also seems to happen if it's been left idle for a bit. I've only had it a few days so haven't been able to replicate it yet. Very annoying when you've just paid nearly 2k fir it.

Hi Stuart,
There might be a connection problem between the wheel and the base. I recommend that you contact support to properly troubleshoot this. You can contact them by creating a Support Ticket via the My Products section of your Fanatec account, or you can try the Live Chat feature, open Monday to Friday, 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. (CET). Live Chat is active whenever you see the headset icon on the site.

Shall do. I got my wheelbase from Digital Motorsports. Can I still open a support ticket?
Yes you can for the trouble shooting, but in case of something needs being fixed then you have to contact the lads at digital Motorsports.
They are very attending.
Just check in case the usb port that you are connecting to the PC is not entering at sleeping mode after some time.
Yes, you are welcome to open a support ticket with us.
I've found it only ever does it if it's left unattended for 20 minutes or so. It's like something goes to sleep and won't wake up. If it's in constant use, there's no problem, so it seems like a software problem. The simple answer is not to leave it unattended and it's otherwise fine. They don't have some kind of power save mode do they, as its the only time it does it.
That sounds to me like it could be your PC is set to power down idle USB devices after a certain amount of time.
