how come when i try to edit the config file i cant get the pedal to think max pressure is at 80% like all the guides tell u to do for iracing?
when i change it to 85,000 it just doesnt work
so how do i reconfigure the brake to have 80% as the max pressure?
Thanks

I have never seen any guide recommending this...
if I remember correctly after you set the value in the config u need to press calibrate and then go back.
what do u mean?
when u calibrate in iracing it wipes out and starts a fresh config file

It's something called a "brake hack" even though there's no hacking involved. The idea is to give consistency on not locking up the wheels by limiting the maximum amount of brake force (see the video posted by greg).
What you need to do is set "CalibMin" to a negative value and that will allow you to achieve what you need.
Of course, the number you put in depends on how much less brake you want to apply (so, in your case -20%), but also depends on the Force Factor in iRacing that you have set (which is 1.8 by default). You're in luck because there is a detailed video guide on how to calculate exactly what you need to type in to get to any value you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOE5WnD-J30
If you don't want to deal with so much calculation, you can just change your Force Factor to "0.00" and then it's very easy calculation:
0.2 * 65535 = 13107
and that's what you enter into your
joyCalib.yaml
file where your Brake axis is:CalibMin: -13107
Beware: changing your force factor to "0.00" means also that your brake becomes completely linear which may not be what you really want. I'd recommend that value only to people who have either removed the foam out of the brake (because the brake is then, for all intents and purposes, linear) and people who have a load cell brake.
WOW, I could not find that video you linked.
that is exactly what i was looking for... THANK YOU
ill try this out shortly.
Great video btw.
It only works if you are connected via USB for the pedals
this works!! TY!!!
