Firmware update loop

Every time I go to connect one of my wheels (CSL Elite WCR and McLaren GT3 V2) to my CSL DD the firmware updater opens unprompted. There's no new firmware that gets flashed and it constantly opens up after an "update". The wheel base has doesn't try to update, only the steering wheels and it's starting to get annoying because there's no info anywhere about this.
I've had both the DD and my steering wheels for about 8 months now and it just started doing this 3 days ago.

It's not the problem I was having but I'll give it a look.
This seems to have fixed it. I'm not sure how the shaft could've backed out, but I'll make sure to keep an eye on it from now on.
I have same wheel and problem, loop in update.....
