Firmware manager crashing while trying to update motor firmware

I recently updated my PC Drivers to the latest version 434, I followed all instructions and the PC driver updated no problem!
when i tried updating the motor firmware to 40 the firmware manager crashes and the program is non responsive, since then the fan is on full and the wheel is not working at all in game.
its picked up in game controllers, when I open property page there is no steering movement registering and nothing happens when I hit FFB test.
The firmware manager works if I re-flash the base but crashes when I try to update the motor of steering wheels!

managed to fix by reverting my PC back to its last restore point and flashing back to the old motor firmware then managed to update the new one without issue!
