Podium F1 DD1 PS4 not detected by Project Cars 1 on PS4 pro

My Podium F1 DD1 PS4 is not detected by Project Cars 1 on my PS4 pro. The wheel is said to be compatable when in Playstation compatibility mode, but no matter what button I press at startup screen, nothing happens. I tried all compatability modes, including of course the PS4/PS5 compatibility mode.

I have the following firmware: wheelbase 3.0.4.3 steering wheel 33. I also tried downgrading to earlier firmware: Wheelbase 653, wheelbase motor 30, Steering Wheel 27. This did not work.

Please let me know if you have an idea?

Project CARS 1 is so old that it is not compatible with the P DD even in Compatibility Mode.

According to the published compatibility list, Project Cars 1 should work in playstation compatibility mode, see https://fanatec.com/eu-en/faq/details/id/116
