I cleared local appdata (hidden files by default), completed a windows update, completed a clean uninstall then reinstalled 1.6.3 and now it's working :).
I think i might run into some issues here after updating to 1.63.
I'm getting a Device Mismatch when loading my ACC settings. Also there isn't a option to change any settings in Fanalab other then Vibration. Tuning Menu is empty. When loading my F1 2021 settings i'm getting a Missing Requirements, please selects settings error. I can change my brake force.
I have the following drivers:
PC driver: 402
WB FW: 684
SW FW: 40
WQR FW: 6
Using a DD1 with Clubsport V3 and a Formula V2 wheel.
Your driver is waaaaaaaaay too old and not supported by any new Fanalab version.
As stated in the first post you need to run driver 439 for this Fanalab version, only then they work in harmony again and Fanalab can read the device Info from the driver properly.
So just update the driver and all your issues are fixed.
OMG you are fast. I was just posting this and reading back and thought..Ohw wauw i'm running on old firmware. I was looking for the firmware and then i would change my post...but you where way to fast :)...Thx!
Is there any update about PBME freezes/crashes with AMS2 while using Fanalab ? The issue still occur very frequently at this day ... ITM freeze is not a major issue as it can sometimes strangely auto-restart ingame but PBME crash IS ... Frozen display, no inputs -> game unplayable...
Can you share which GPU/driver you are on? I am on NVIDIA 511.79.
Also, what do you consider a clean uninstall? I have removed the 3 folders in local appdata, and selected "Reset all settings" when installed, but still getting the immediate crash on Fanalab 1.63.
Just speculating here...But looks like it is assuming some image file exists on my local drive that doesn't. Perhaps this is a logo I assigned to a custom game profile that no longer exists on my local drive? But I don't know where it stores the reference to this. I can't see it in %LOCALAPPDATA% folders or in the registry.
Yes, this was the problem. I found the image in my Recycle Bin and restored it, and Fanalab starts again. I assumed Fanalab would copy the file to a local location and deleted the input file. So to reproduce:
Add a new Custom Game and give it an image.
Delete the source image
Restart fanalab and observe crash
So a few changes I think are needed here:
Ignore missing custom game logos on startup
When Fanalab settings are reset, remove these custom game profiles from wherever they are stored
Ideally copy the input image into Fanalab appdata location
BTW there is no way to remove a custom game image once one is assigned (only change it to a different one)
When a new FanaLab version comes out for the BMW M4 GT3 Steering Wheel.
But I actually do not know if I will ever again provide profiles as a recent update broke them today and I wont do all the work again. Lets see if they can be restored or not. If not then I am done.
Please work towards integrating Fanalab and drivers/firmware into one software package. Also the UI and whole UX needs a refresh and a uniform design language. Now it looks dated and is not as usable as it could be.
A Direct Integration of Fanalab and the Driver is not planned, they are both way too complex Softwares and already create enough issues on their own. To have them separate means being more flexible in releases etc. Also Fanalab is purely optional and other companies like Nvidia also split their driver with their optional GeForce Experience Software.
A Fanalab Design Adaption to the new Driver UI style was planned at some time though but nothing for the near future.
Thanks for answering. Just a sugggestion, then why dont you make it so that Fanalab is the core that you download and it manages drivers for those that seek simplicity.
LED colour and brightness adjustments have been listed as intended features since it was launched over two and a half years ago. Things move slowly at Fanatec HQ. Actually unbelievable that there has been zero progress.
In the PWS files you can already change it for a long time btw, just not available in the UI yet but progress is being made and it shouldnt take too long anymore I guess. At least for the BMW M4 wheel it's already an implemented feature.
Obviously lots of folks like me who really appreciate having the profiles "prepped" by you as it saves us all lots of time while taking up a tremendous amount of yours.
I just recently installed 439, but havent updated to 1.63 yet... i downloaded your new profiles and downloaded 1.63. Is 1.63 working fine or this recent update actually broke it? (i havent updated my nvidia drivers and fanalabs is still 1.60.6). Also running win 10 still...
1.63 is fine and my last updated profiles are fine as well.
Internally on a newer Build something major broke them and I still dont know for sure if they can be revovered without too much Extra work. If they cant, then I wont do them again as they took dozens of hours to make, that's for sure...
Hi, I work in design and your great physical products need to be complimented with great software to be competitive. You are the leader in accessible sim racing equipment and also need to wake up on the software part. You know of course what Moza is doing and I feel you could gain a lot by implementing better UX and staying ahead.
This is just details but using a UI library as mui.com and designing it to fit your brand and products can cut development time a lot.

Please provide your Windows Event Logs related to FanaLab crashes.
Without the Logs this issue can not be investigated at all.
I didn't see anything previously in the Event Viewer but today I found this:

Its is possible to change the color from Flag LEDs in any file? In this area is only possible to enable or disabled it.
No thats not possible.
Your issue with swapped colors is under investigation.
can maurice tell when will share new fanalab settings for the new release of ACC with new cars? thanks

I USE PODIUM ENDURANCE BUTTON, AND BEFORE FORMULA V2.5X AND ON FORMULA NO PROBLEM FOR BRIGHTLESS INTESITY
BUT ON PODIUM IS TOO HIGH
No need to shout ;)
It's not available yet but planned to come in a future update at some point but not anytime soon.
YES I SET 1 OF 3 FOR NOW
WAITING UPDATE TO SWITCH ON 3 AND QUITE LUMINOSITY
Still no need to shout. Please do not use Caps Lock in an open Forum. Thanks.

Because the DRIVER is the essential Part, not Fanalab. Fanalab is optional.
It will stay like this. At least for now and the near future. Fanalab will not be ingegrated into the driver at this point.

Hi all,
I don't understand. Since a lot of Fanalab versions, the "engine vibration" doesn't work. I need to use "Fanaled" to get it working.
Best regards.
I have the same problem on my FormulaV2.
I'm using CSL Elite Wheel Base V1.1 and Fanalab 1.63.0.
