I've got a CS DD on order and upgrading from a CS v2.5 which I'm excited about. Still, I too am baffled like others on the decision to give the Playstation version more power than the PC/Xbox one. For sure it'd be nice to have 15 Nm vs 12 without the $300 charge for a little bit more and PS licensing fees. Maybe we'll get an optional power supply booster in the future for us non-Playstation PC/Xbox players??
Of course 12 may just be ample. Without trying it first, who knows?
Thank you for the reply Maurice, appreciate your time.
One final question is i know your a fan of peak tourq.
I presume the new line of podium wheels will have peak and the CS wheels have it (unavailable) to push sales for extra features other than just pure “NM” wars.
iv already ordered a DD+ but my concern is il miss the range that can be archived on lower FFB settings.
( i like lighter wheel feeling that are responsive when something goes wrong)
do you not think you will miss the same?
Seeing i have seen some of your settings for CSL DD to be peek(I understand why on that)
No. Lowering FFB value will limit the maximum motor output (like it always did for every base). So reducing the CS DD+ FFB from 100 to 60 you reduce the motor output from 15 Nm to 9 Nm.
I have ordered the CS DD when they launched it but now am wondering if I should cancel that and order the CS DD+. I am coming from a CSW 2.5 so I thought the 12 Nm would be plenty but I have never used a DD before so who knows...
I wish they were more information regarding if there is a physical difference between the CS DD and DD+ (other than PS chip) or if the 15 Nm are unlocked using a different power supply like the CSL DD and would perhaps be offered by Fanatec in the future.
I really don't understand why Fanatec forces you to buy the Playstation version to get the 15 Nm version?
It was already confirmed that it wont be possible to update a regular CS DD with a different PSU to 15 Nm, there wont be a Boost Kit solution.
The 3 Nm more power is not only due to a slightly more powerful PSU (300W vs 340W) but is also due to different electronics like they already did with DD1 which uses the same motor as DD2 but due to different electronics it's limited in Torque.
Thank you for the info about the PSU, I missed that, then it's now or never. Still I think they should have made only one 15 Nm version for both versions (PC and PS compatible) or made both of them available as non Playstation compatible versions. It is awkward to have to pay for Playstation compatibility just to get the more powerful base...
Thanks for the reply as usual Maurice, just to confirm even the GT Pro wheel with a metal QR still is limited to 8mn? (Think i saw you say something like that elsewhere)
(just so i can figure out if i need to upgrade my wheel)
The absence of youtube reviews (i.e. Boosted Media who delays the review since three weeks) brings me to the conclusion that there this is not simple problem like delivery delays of the CS DD. Will (Boosted Media) did a comment on one of his shorts that he has the system up and running only for a few days but until now nothing can be seen in any review!
I really think that there is a serious problem with the CS DD: the drivers or even the hardware!!! I ordered a CS DD already but at the moment I feel very frustrated.
Hello, I wanted to know if you will see more delays in the CS DD base? Because it's been almost two months since I made the reservation, I'm wondering if that would cancel the order and opt for another brand.
Nobody can say for certain but the way things are at Fanatec HQ more delays seem more likely than not - hundreds of posts detailing the myriad issues so I won't repeat here. Opting for another brand seems sensible in the circumstances.
Thank you for your response, it would be for waiting or canceling the order I placed on October 13, no one says anything, I don't know, they watch the videos, there is nothing at all, this seems like the best kept secret.

but also you have on Podium settings.
Will the CSDD have a similar bolt pattern for mounting to my rig as the CSW v2.5?
So summarise my question,
will the CS DD be able to peak at 15nm if i use a lower wheel strength?
EG, lowering FFB to 60/70, I presume for normal driving the wheel will be nice and heavy but not be able to use more touq like it can in “peak”mode
No. Lowering FFB value will limit the maximum motor output (like it always did for every base). So reducing the CS DD+ FFB from 100 to 60 you reduce the motor output from 15 Nm to 9 Nm.

New question surprised nobody has asked..
Is there a limit on the DD+ when using Plastic QR.
or lets say a GT DD Pro Wheel.
dose it cap at 10nm?
Yes, like on a Podium DD plastic QR will limit the Torque to 8 Nm.
Thanks for the reply as usual Maurice, just to confirm even the GT Pro wheel with a metal QR still is limited to 8mn? (Think i saw you say something like that elsewhere)
(just so i can figure out if i need to upgrade my wheel)
Yes, GT SW Pro is limited to 8 Nm regardless of the used QR (same for all CSL P1 wheels and CSL Elite WRC).
Hi, I have a question about the power supply on the news bases clubsport DD and DD+ , how many watt for each base ?
I saw on the blog
(300W vs 340W)
is exactly ?
the DD1 is 480W and I saw you told the DD+ 340w is comparable to DD1 but 20nm peak vs 15 nm consistent and 140w more for DD1 ?
thanks
According to a Interview from the Expo: 300W for CS DD, 340W for CS DD+.
There wont be a Boost Kit Option and using the 340W PSU on the regular CS DD would not increase the torque output of that base.
The DD1 is 480W and I saw you told the DD+ 340w is comparable to DD1 but 20nm peak vs 15 nm consistent and 140w more and 5nm for DD1 ? DD+ is better ?
DD1 has the same power supply as the DD2, so 140W more for 10Nm more.
But respond in part to my question; which is better DD1 or DD+ ?
Maybe Boosted Media's review will answer that question.
Yes tks
Surprise, Surprise…
Fanatec moved/delayed today the availability date of existing ClubSport DD Wheelbase orders one week later.
I am not surprised about that, just sad about the customer care situation at all.
I even won’t be surprised if availability/shipping date will be moved to next year (2024).
What a shame FANATEC!
raising the delivery date again! november 28th! how nice!
.
ok thank you for letting me know. i understand, these things happen. can't help but feel unpleased by how things are going.
I have editied my reply before your answer.
I was wrong, it actually affects all orders, not just new ones.

Will got sick as he got Covid and lost his voice, therefore he is unable to finish his review, which he can otherwise post whenever its ready.
He already said in another comment that the CS DD is "significantly better than the R12" for example ;)
I am sure as soon as he gets his voice back, he will finish the review, independent from the current shipment delays.

I pre-ordered the CS DD+ and Fanatec has till 1/1/2024 before I cancel and switch brands. I will not wait longer.
