Currently planned for the upcoming driver release this spring.

  • Hello Maurice,

Would it be possible to get an official stance on the Formula V2.5 issue of the buttons not working for 1-2 seconds every few minutes? Like I have mentionned before, it is often reported by others that the shifters are having cutouts, but it‘s actually all buttons when it happens.

I have read very conflicting answers of the Fanatec staff here in the forums. Some say it‘s being investigated, others say the issue is unknown.

I don‘t think it‘s acceptable that we have to run a 1 year old firmware as a workaround.

Please get this sorted, as I mentionned before I would happy to help you guys out with debugging, logs or documenting the issue (probably best by email to not bloat the forums).

  • This has been driving me crazy. I hope they fix the LED operations on the BMW M4 GT3 wheel when using the CS DD. It doesn't work with Fanalab. The flag lights and rev lights don't work as they're advertised, meaning it's false advertising. In the description for the wheel it has the following:

    • Can operate as RevLEDs

No, it can't. If it's a driver problem with the CS DD, then fix it. If it's a driver problem with the 464 (and earlier revisions) then fix it. Apparently this problem has been around since the CS and CS DD+ was released and that's a long, long time ago now. They've had time to address it by now.

Maurice, whoever he is, is talking like he's a representative of Fanatec. His name only shows that he's a "member" so I'll only take what he says with a grain of salt. He's stated that it's in the CS DD driver.

  • The issue is known and under investigation. For now the devs were not able to reproduce the issue so it will take time to fix the issue so it wont be an easy and quick fix. It is unsure if it will make it into the planned sustaining driver release this spring.

  • This is a known Firmware issue of the CS DD to be fixed at some point in the future. There is no ETA for a fix yet.

  • After attaching my BMW M4 GT3 wheel to my CS DD+ some of the LEDs are off on the wheel. When I switch around with profiles in Fanalab the LEDs get switched on but the color of the LEDs is not correct. Last time you've replied that this is a known issue. It's annoying as it persists for nearly a year and I'd like to use the features of my €1,5k wheel!

  • Ah, that LED issue.

This is still a known Firmware issue of the CS DD to be fixed at some point in the future. There is no ETA for a fix yet.

  • Very surprising that something like this can happen. A known issue not handled for so long time. Even if it is not critical it is a service degradation. I am convinced of Fanatec products but I understand the many critical voices very good.

    Hello Maurice boschen,

Maurice boschen I made the update 464 and during the update I had a bug which made an error with the update of my clubsport hub xbox v2 and since I cannot more update it, because it marks to me error firmware file not found, I tried in manual and automatic on several driver of the 455 to the 464 and I do not manage to update it, that displays to me well but with an update which displays the number zero (I put you the captures of screens).

I've tried on several usb ports on my pc and with the original usb cable supplied with the base without a multi-socket and the base is connected directly to the mains without using a multi-socket and each time I get this error telling me that it can't find the corresponding update file.

So I'd like to have the clubsport hub xbox v2 update file, because I know it's possible to have the files separately and go and get them by going through the fanatec update software on my pc to install them manually with the three dots tab that opens the folders on our pc.

Knowing that I've already seen on your forum that there was a file for the QR, but also one for the podium hub and the clubsport DD+ base, I imagine that it's possible to have a file for the clubsport hub xbox v2 that you can give me so that I can do the manipulation?

    Thank you

Are you 100% sure about this? I will test that in the next days.

It would explain why the issue mostly appears on the same spot on the same track and game (F1 24 Austria, before the penultimum corner). Probably the bumps in the track cause wheel vibration and that triggers the issue.

EDIT: I have tried it, but it didn't fix it for me. :(

  • Are you on the latest of everything? Strange, I've read here that this causes the issue, but maybe that is a different one.

I hope you didn't turn it off for pedals and/or ingame, I specifically meant it should be disabled for the wheel rim in the control panel (and maybe fanalab if that also has this option - don't remember that, I mostly play rally).

  • I specifically turned it off for the wheel in the Fanatec Software, also in Fanalab for the game‘s profile. I double checked that it was off while the game was running.

  • Thanx Maurice 😊

  • Don't get your hopes up cause it won't happen. I can paste you a full page of those kind of posts from months/years ago that never came true.

  • I ordered the DD+ for PS5 in November, i updated the firmware to latest available version(464), and everything works perfectly, BUT:

This is something that occurs every now and then, and i am not sure how i can reproduce it. It can occur straight after startup or after some time after startup. My DD+(GT7 wheel) will sometimes do a double downshift. When this issue occurs, i notice that there is a significant delay from when i downshift before it happens in the game, it feels like its lagging between DD+ base and PS5. When this happens and i downshift it will 9 out of 10 times do a double downshift super fast. So it goes from 5th to 4th and instantly to 3rd, sometimes it is nice, but more often than not this is unwanted downshifts where i only want to go down 1 gear instead of 2, or i want to have a slow downshift to keep the car stable. As sudden as i notice this, it just disappears and can be gone for a couple of days before it comes back again. Anyone else had this issue?

  • I am still getting FFB Loss when adjusting wheelbase settings and also have now found that just opening the Fanatic control panel I will instantly lose FFB. I did not get a response last time, but this is a repeatable issue and does it every time when I am in a game does not matter which game. This does seem more like a software driver bug but since Clubsport DD had the Disconnect issue it does concern me. This only happen when I open or do anything within the Fanatic driver control panel or Fanalab

  • This is the most spot on post i have ever seen in this forum

  • No, I'll give that a try. I did go back to 455 and it was WAAAY better. maybe only miss one shift in about half an hour of racing. Usually down for some reason. I reset to factory base and Formula V2 firmware at the same, so I'm not sure what made the difference. Fanatec finally answered my ticket (well it's a new ticket since i never even got a email back from them last time.) after a year and I'm talking with them now. I've updated back to current drivers and firmware for testing with them, and the problem is back big time. I'm reverting to 455 again to test if its the driver or the firmware that matters.

455 firmware does not have that issue, that's why you may feel that its way better

    in 456 they type

"Fixed too weak rumble motors on the Formula V2.5(X)."

i'm not surprised if that started cause this because hardware may not like something like this

  • Normally, a new driver will add a new product firmware and come with several random bugs. If you don't like the gifts they come with, please purchase other brands of racing simulation equipment!

  • It could definitely be related. I do feel that when testing, the issue mostly appears on the same parts of the tracks, quite possibly when the vibration of the wheel kicks in because of a bump or other things.

voltage drop may reach to that point where microchip cant handle anymore, and that would cause instant disconnect

stuff like this works correctly only in virtual test like in "Proteus software" in reality it may be not that easy

i don't even currently have miss shift or any other issue in my csl dd and in clubsport dd+

but i don't have all the steering wheels either

Wheelbase and Wheel get stuck in Xbox mode, not responsive

I have a CS DD+ wheelbase using a McLaren GT3 V2 on a Xbox. First time powering on the wheelbase and switching into Xbox mode works fine and everything is functional. After powering off the wheelbase while in Xbox mode and powering on a second time the wheelbase/wheel gets stuck (hangs, is unreponsive) and can only be repaired by unplugging power from the wheelbase. I do see in the OLED Screen of the wheel, that it does not seem to "boot" as it does not show the driver information as usual. Also: When switching to PC Mode before powering off the wheelbase does not result in this error.

I have tested the same procedure with a Xbox universal hub v2 wheel and there are no problems. So I assume it is a problem the McLaren wheel.

I'm using driver 464 and tested also driver 462 with the same result.

    Firmware:

    ClubSport DD(+) Base: 2.3.0.1

    ClubSport DD(+) WQR: 1.1.0.3

    CSL Elite SW McLaren GT3 V2: 47

Can you please check and see if it is a reproducable problem that can be fixed with a new driver version?

    Thanks

  • I took advantage of the free shipping and the fact that they were on sale to upgrade to the QR2. I have a CSL DD 8Nm + Formula 2.5X and have already installed the new QR2. Since I had to format my PC, I’m starting from a clean setup. So, after reading the forum, I was wondering which driver and firmware are recommended for this combination to avoid issues and make the most of it.

Thanks to anyone who replies—we’re a great community that helps each other out. Fanatec has been through tough times, but it’s definitely recovering. Let’s try not to be too hard on those who are just doing their job, especially considering everything they’ve been through. After all, they’re not the ones deciding Fanatec’s fate.

In Italy, we have a saying (hopefully it still makes sense in translation): “You tie the donkey where the master wants,” meaning, “I just follow orders—whether it’s the right thing or not isn’t up to me when I’m not the one in charge.”
