Yes, I think until it is implemented in the new app you will need to uninstall and use the old white app, hopefully it won't take too long for the update to be added for you!
Solved the issue. For anyone else getting this error message I had to repair Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime - 8.0.4 (x86) via the uninstall or change a program in the Windows Control Panel.
I have another request: I noticed that it’s possible to load recommended settings by importing game-specific profiles, but this only works for games installed on a PC.
If I wanted to download a profile for Dirt 2, F1, Forza Motorsport, or ACC to use on a console, how could I do that?
Would it be possible to unlock profiles for multi-platform games without needing to have the game installed on a PC?
Thanks for the screenshot, now I understand. The reason the max calibration is grayed out is because the maximum inbut is defined by the BRF slider. The main problem seems to be that the BRF slider is not shown for you even though it should be. There is also supposed to be a mouse hover hint explaining this when hovering over the grayed out button but if its missing we need to fix that but of course that hint won't help much if the slider is missing. Also noticed there is no picture shown for your pedal set which we already had as an issue and we are working on it.
Thanks for raising this, we will try to fix it as soon as possible.
This is how it should look like with the BRF slider available on the left.
My General ramblings and comments on new Fanatec App.
In general, package looks more modern and I commend the authors for their efforts.
Game Profile component:
1) There is no quick way to see if all profiles are assigned to actual cars.
2) Profile names are currently truncated (Doesn't show the whole profile name) making it difficult to assign the correct car / cars to the profile.
3) Shouldn't have to scroll up or down to choose the "Load Profile button" or "View Profile Summary button", they should remain on the same screen at all times.
4) Any text that is clickable should be highlighted with a square box around it, some are missing this feature, ie Set Min / Max on handbrake calibration and View Profile Summary.
My Games:
1) When I copied over all my Fanalab Profiles and the Carlist_???????.xml, ProfileCarLists_???????.xml and, CustomGameConfig.xml files some of the Game pictures were changing, ie: If I single clicked on the Assetto Corsa Game it would change to show a Project Cars Picture and that games car profiles, click again and it show Assetto Corsa again and its profiles.
2) When manually adding other games I had issues with applying a default Profile and even loading some profiles, giving me the incompatible hardware compared to the profile, giving me a cancel or accept buttons to click, of which neither works (Warning was turned off in settings to stop this and shouldn't even come up).
Wheel Base - Tuning:
1) Have less sub-menus within the tuning menu so you can see all of your settings at a quick glance on the one screen at once (Better in previous versions of normal Fanatec Control panel).
2) Setup selector not showing which Profile you have selected correctly, ie: Setup instead of Setup1, Setup2, Setup3, Setup4, Setup5 and cutting end and bottom off of the words.
Handbrake - Calibration and operation:
1) Had trouble with calibrating handbrake v1.5, Wouldn't maintain the same manual calibration with each turn on of the wheelbase, wouldn't go to 100% so I couldn't set the max, now doesn't work at all.
So when i read Maurice I understand than i can kept Fanalab & the new Driver
But when I read the initial post :
"We recommend to close FanaLab while driving in a game to prevent that FanaLab and Fanatec App are both sending commands to the wheel base. Feel free to use FanaLab for adjusting LEDs and importing those profiles into the Fanatec App until LED customization is added."
BRF with pedal connected via usb is totally ajudstable through the fanatec app that has a white icon which I keep forgetting the right name. It is not possible through fanalab
Regarding BRF I think there is indeed an issue with the new App because BRF was adjustable when connected via USB and not using manual calibration. In manual calibration BRF was not there, but the max button was. In the new App neither BRF, nor max button are avialable when connected through USB which is a problem and we are looking into it.
Regarding binding profiles to cars we can have a closer look, can you help me confirm how to reproduce it.
Assign a profile to one or multiple cars
Save the profile (should not be needed though, I'll clarify this)
play different games using different cars (or do you mean just selecting other games in the app?)
come back to the profile which the cars got assigned to -> cars are not assigned anymore.
I've made a task for the grayed out games to be selectable as well but in general I would recommend to use the forum for console games because not all console games are listed in the app anyway, like Gran Turismo 7 for example.
But I'll not this as a good feature for the mobile app to have the recommended profiles accessible from there.
Are older devices also compatible with the app? I still have a Clubsport V2.5 base and would love to test the new software. In case I have overlooked it, does the old driver software have to be uninstalled or remain installed?
Thanks a lot for the broad and detailed feedback, very appreciated.
Game Profile component:
1) you are right, FanaLab had a little car icon, I'll ask for this to be added.
2) The mouse hover hint should show the full name, if that's not good enough we can look into how this could be further improved. Any suggestions?
3) seems like this is an issue as soon as going smaller than 1080p for the window size, we can have a look how this could be improved. Maybe the save Load option more at the top? the view profile summary button stays visible very long when lowering the window size for me. Maybe share a screenshot or video to showcase it because that part I can't reproduce.
4) The current idea was that every text or icon which is yellow is clickable. The idea was not not have a frame around everything to not bloat the UI too much but if this is a concern and misleading some we can think about changing this. For now I would like to not make immediate changes on this and see for more feedback
My Games:
1) I'll discuss this with the devs. It sounds like you've imported files manually instead of the import function in the app?
2) When I save a profile and load it afterwards again I don't get the message. I only get it when I load a profile which I have saved with e.g. a different wheel or imported from someone else. I saved a profile for a custom game and made it the favorite for this game with the 3 dotted button next to the profile and selecting favorite. When I loaded the custom game it was detected as running and the favorite profile loaded. I can't reproduce the issue yet you've mentioned, would be great if you could explain in more detail and maybe provide a video if possible for us to have another, closer look, thanks.
Wheel Base - Tuning:
1) I see all at once and I don't have sub-menus (depending on what you mean). Please show a screenshot to highlight what you mean. My screenshot was taken at 1080p. Do you mean when making the image significantly smaller which was not possible in the control panel?
2) This is how it looks for me, the full setup name is shown and not cut. I'm wondering what resolution, zoom level and window size you are using. But even when I make the window the smallest I can its correctly shown for me.
Handbrake - calibration and operation:
1) This is working fine with driver 464? Wondering if this might be a firmware issue of the base not correctly saving the calibration. I gave this a try with a CS DD and the handbrake connected to it, I could change min/max and it was the same after a reboot.
When installing the Fanatec App, the driver (Control Panel) is uninstalled automatically. But FanaLab stays installed and is not removed automatically. When driving in a game we recommend to at least close FanaLab to make sure its not interfering with the data send to LEDs and display of a wheel but FanaLab can stay installed in case someone wants to create LED profiles with it because this function is missing from the Fanatec App right now. Most people can just uninstall FanaLab as well if they want to continue using the Fanatec App.
Please provide a screenshot and hilighting what you think is too big.
Also let us know your resolution and scaling setting of the monitor settings under windows because this can have an impact. Lately I heard from someone using 1440p or 4k that everything would be too small for example, so maybe using 720p, 1080p with more than 100% scaling might make things bigger?
also, on the topic of csl pedals connected via usb. I have no idea of what this "change mode of usb adapter" does but i clicked on it right after installing the software and my pedals disappeared. I had to restart my pc to start seeing it again. Never touched it since then
Thanks for the report, the typo is clear and will be done, for the pedal detection I just want to make sure I understood it correctly.
Would this be correct to explain how to reproduce your issue?
CSL Elite V2 plugged into CSL DD
Base turned off
Launch Fanatec App
Turn on CSL DD
Check if pedals are correctly detected (they are not for you)
Change to compatibility mode and back to PC mode (the workaround)
Pedals are now correctly detected
-----
I would say that would explain the correct procedure based on my experience so far (Haven't tried the compatibility mode workaround though).
Second day of using the new Fanatec App with all of my Fanatec hardware:
I later had pedal detection issues with the Clubsports v3 being detected as CSL model and other devices weren't detecting at all, including wheel, shifter and pedals.
Racing game playing at moment:- Forza Horizon 4
Wheel base:- Podium DD1 PS4 (QR2), Current FW on all hardware.
I agree with all you have said here, you made my point more clear about the car profile being linked to each car, and being able see many more of them at any given time.
Display at 1080p with scaling of 125% in windows was my issue I would say, I can't test now as I had to remove the Fanatec App as I couldn't get it to behave enough to actually use my gear to race.
May retry later with an updated version becomes available.
Yes I had the same issue with matching car profiles to the actual cars in the Fanatec App.
1) Imported Fanalab Profiles for AC, ACC, AMS2, PCars2, Iracing and others, doesn't copy over any ProfileCarsList_????????.xml files.
2) Linked each car profile to specific cars for one game to test, shows cars linked in box to left when correct.
3) Save work (Not sure if auto save or have to click save, may have missed a save button)
4) Load a different game and its profiles, then go back to the previous game and load any of the profiles and all the links are gone to the cars.
5) The App seems broken in that creating the link doesn't seem to create the necessary files that the info is stored in for each Game/Car/Car profile. (I hope I didn't miss the save button)
6) No way to import the "Custom added Games" from Fanalab also.
Solution for importing all Fanalab info for me into a fresh Fanatec App (YMMV):
1) Instead of importing each folder separately from Fanalab, I copied all the Car Profiles Folders / Files from my Fanalab directory:
Hello i have got the problem that after some time driving on iracing or lmu this happened with the rgb backlight? Is this a Software problem? Im still on wheel Software 8.0
Comments

I have attempted to install the new app but am presented with the following error every time the app opens
I have uninstalled, restarted, downloaded and reinstall at least 3 times but on each occasion I receive the same error.
Solved the issue. For anyone else getting this error message I had to repair Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime - 8.0.4 (x86) via the uninstall or change a program in the Windows Control Panel.
here's how it shows to me. It is greyed out and there's not really a place to change the %.
Thanks, Marcel, for the update.

So which one should i follow ? :o
Maybe I missed an update but isn't BRF only possible when the pedals are connected to the wheel base ?
In the member situation, the pedal are in USB, and AFAIK (at least in the past) we couldn't configure BRF for USB Pedal
The info I remember was from 2 Years ago so I don't know if it has been changed since then ? Is it ?
BRF with pedal connected via usb is totally ajudstable through the fanatec app that has a white icon which I keep forgetting the right name. It is not possible through fanalab
Ok so it's on Fanalab where it's possible vith RJ45 but not USB then :)
Thanks for the clarification
Hi!
The application looks good. Nice work.
But why all is so big….?
its modern, common lastly and absurdly disturbing the user experience.

Good evening staff..
I can't calibrate the maximum brake on the new app.
The pedal is mounted on the csl dd base.
Hi Marcel, thanks for your reply. Just compare the info available in almost same space in Fanalab and new app...
I'm using a 1440p and buttons and line gaps are incredible big.
Having a lot of cars to manage the profiles it's a bit crazy the wheel mouse usage that is necessary to do.
Hope you decide to implement a 'compact' layout or something like that were a lot of information could be displayed at the same time.
It's looks tv/playstation suitable size but not a PC tool that must show a lot of information.
@Marcel Pfister

Yes this is a known issue of the new Fanatec App.
