GT DD PRO keeps disconnecting on PS5
So, like many others I have encountered the sudden disconnect mid race (both F1 24 and GT7). What is strange in my case is that usually the wheel keeps spinning like crazy when the disconnect happens, I havent seen that one before(?). I have tried everything now, tightening the shaft, updating drivers, changing USB ports on the PS5, tried changing between 5nm and 8nm. There is nothing else I can think of. Any ideas from you people?
Also, I can not even submit a ticket for support because the website doesnt allow me to enter my serial numbers for my products.

😥plz keep me posted im having the same issues, driver and firmware updated, checked all physical connection, tried to use recover feature in the software, steering wheel still disconnect after playing 5-10 min while pedal and base works.

should I downgrade steering wheel to old firmware? if yes, how? i couldn't find any firmware downloads on the website
try use usb hub
Would a usb hub really work though? Everything I read in these forums suggest against it.
I tried both older and new firmware and nothing works for me. I keep getting the disconnects. I am sick and tired of this.

this is wrong place to talk about that tho, if users have issues with firmware they should talk in the drivers update
its not first time issue allot people been talked about this since 455.
GT DD Pro user here.. experience with disconnects..USB hub did not work in my case.. the only thing that did fix it was QR2 Upgrade.. ( it sucks to have to spend more money to fix a pretty common issue that Fanatec must be aware of)
I had tried all the "fixes".. none worked. I suspect that there is flex in the QR1 Lite wheel side and this is causing the disconnects.. just a theory though.
Now running driver 451 with QR2, and have only experienced 1 disconnection in about 5 weeks.. ( don't know the reason for that one).
QR1 Lite have flex yes, and kind off big one, if that moves constantly left and right then it may in one point start cause problems
Kind of ridiculous that we have to spend even more money on a product that is clearly not working the way it should from the beginning, and even then you get disconnects? If I knew 100% that it will fix my problems sure, but to spend another hundred euros for something that "might" work is unacceptable.
Simon you don’t mention which wheel and which QR is used on your setup. Also whether you have or tried a different wheel and have the same issues. Also whether its always done that or is a recent development - what changed if so?
First FW issues - the FW included w Driver 451 was very stable for the DD Pro, so starting point for testing FW issues is to go back to that version. If you still have problems then likely HW. If issues go away then report in the driver discussion

For wheel FW need to look at the changelog to see which versions are included. Not all driver versions update FW for wheels so might have to install a specific driver just to downgrade the wheel FW

Sounds like you’ve tried many of these things so it’s possible the whole base needs to be sent in for repair, but contacting support they will want to know the details above
Thanks for your suggestions Neil, they might actually help me with this. Ive tried many different solutions now and it seems that my QR might be the problem. That would explain why 8nm gives me a disconnect faster than 5nm (higher stress). I will go with the QR2 and cross my fingers that it actually helps. What Allan said about flex on the QR1 sounds very familiar to me and after researching a bit more it describes my problems quite well. I will report back after trying QR2.
Should not turn the steering wheel after disconnection, just turn off all buttons and loss of FFB.
I had the exact same problem 3 years ago, with the first series of CSL DD, and many others have had the same problem in that time. It was EMI. However, I have never seen any reports of this problem since. Perhaps the subsequent series improved the shielding against EMI. However, it is strange that the steering wheel continues to turn.
Indeed, it spins so fast that I have to unplug the chord from the power socket, nothing else works.

You could try, with a handful of euros, to buy some ferrite cores clips to put in the USB cable of the wheelbase. Place several, 2 or 3 on each side. It won't be completely conclusive, but it should greatly limit the phenomenon.
If it works then you can do other things to definitively solve the problem, if it doesn't work you will still have spent a few euros.
