Podium Wheel Base DD2 + Formula Wheel 2.5 update issues
Hello.
I updated yesterday my Fanatec Driver on 464 and I update my wheel base but I don't know which version (I think the latest). Firstly I lost my FFB. After I tried this driver, I reinstall the driver again and this issue came:
And the Fanatec Control Panel didnt even find a Fanatec Device although the base was connected. I tried other drivers like the 462, 455, 452 and 447.
Also I tried this (the post of Patrick Canery):
My guess is that the problem is that I'm using a QR1 not a QR2. Is there an option to reupdate / downgrade the update of the Wheel Base? Or do you have other methods to fix this? I already contacted the Fanatec Support.
(Sorry for my English Skills, I am German :D )

no its not a QR1 or QR2. issue may come because software decide use different com port speed, in some case i guess the pc restart may help but not sure
other scenario could be that you fully need uninstall the drivers first and then try install again
right com port speed can be also manually select in device manager
and last issue could be that hardware is dead
Great tip and insights, Allan! Thanks a lot!
I tried a lot of restarts and I reinstall the drivers more than one time.
Is there a tutorial to set the right com port speed?
i don't even know if they latest firmware works correctly for dd2
after i see that issue myself i go right back to old firmware
com port settings look like this. but you should by default not play with those
also you should post your error log first, it could be something else
I saw this same error last night when I booted up my DD1 base with a different wheel than I normally use. I’m on 455 for the base to avoid shifter misses, but most of my wheels/hubs are a higher version.
Ultimately, I just disconnected the wheel (podium hub) and it booted right up as normal. I was then able to reattach the wheel/hub with no issues.
should not happen by default. never had before till i updated to latest drivers and firmware.
That are mine settings at the moment.
I don't which logs you need but these are all logs I have
this FwMotorAndRimUpdater.log does show com port issues
to you todo Base restart? because 455 may need that after first launch
you sure you installed motor and base firmware correctly ?
With base restart you mean the pressing on the white / grey button 10 seconds? And at the last point I am not very sure. I bought this podium base in March from a friend and I didnt updated it from there on. The last update did my friend
i mean to you shut off base and start again after the 455 install, there is one bug in 455 what may cause issues
if that PDD issue self not goes away, you to may need contact with fanatec support
I did it but the issue is still there. I sent now a support mail to fanatec with this issue. Thank you very much for the tries
The comment about 455 was one that slipped my mind Allan, I'm glad you mentioned it. I had downgraded from 46x (which I use on my DD+ that currently has coil whine) to 455 on the DD1 to address the shifter bug. I'm pretty sure that first bootup was the one with the error. At any rate, I'm not getting it on my most recent boot just now, which is good.
coil whine in DD+ is something what is not possible fix with firmware, it's by default a factory defect
