Driver installations
Help needed. Sorry if this is in a wrong category. I'm new to this Fanatec ecosystem. It's quite confusing even though I work in the IT industry. I have played with Logitech G2x for years on consoles. Most probably I will continue the console side. PC only needed for firmware upgrades.
When you go to fanatec website (not forum) there are different driver versions for different products. I assume the driver is universal to all the equipment? I assume I have to choose the latest one even thought some equipment has the older version of the driver. Is that true? The product page of the magnetic shifter module shows v373 version of the driver, but for example formula v2 wheel shows v334. I really don't understand why all the products don't have same stable version of the driver (the latest one).
Other question, is it safe (relatively) to install the beta version (v380) instead of stable?
Last question, should I connect the clubsport v3 pedal via wheelbase to PC or directly connect with usb to make firmware upgrade?

Hello Jussi and welcome to the forum :)
Atm the drivers on each product page are the minimum driver required for the product to function properly. The driver 380 is much more stable than the older drivers like 328 or 334. Many improvements included.
In addition, the driver 380 is a release candidate, so with the latest issues reported by some, we will get the next "stable" driver.
The V3 pedals didn't get a FW update since 2 or 3 years ago and there is no disadvantage in connecting them directly to your base.
One question, on which consolee do you plan to run your base?
The driver 380 has an issue with the thumb encoder on PS4 atm.
Thanks for your quick answer. That helped me a lot. So V3 pedals comes with the latest firmware if I understood right? -> no need to try to upgrade firmware.
I'm planning to run both ps4 pro and xbox one x starting with F1 2020 which I bought to ps4. So should I use v373 or install v380 and just wait upgraded beta version for thumb encoder? I really don't need that thumb encoder atm. There is too much to think about already. Basic controls are enough for me atm :).
The thumb encoders are reversed with driver 380 and included FWs. If that's not a problem for you, you can try it out :) And yes, there is no update required with the pedals directly connected to your base anyway. Have fun!
Yes, the CSP v3 come with the latest (and basically their only Firmware as they NEVER had any firmware update since they were release almost 6 years ago..^^).
On console I would use driver 373 and the included firmwares as 380 and included firmwares has console bugs but those will be fixed in 381 soon so if you have some extra time driver 381 and included firmwares would be the best way.
Thanks, most probably I go with the version of 373. One more question, does matter if I download it from product page or forum (beta drivers)? What I mean are they same? Usually beta is beta and it necessarily doesn't include everything which are in the stable release. I found that "stable" one in the product page for ClubSport Magnetic Paddle Module. All the other products have either 328 or 334.

373 is a beta driver but 2 years more recent that 328 which is VERY old. Dont use it. Use 373 ;-)
I meant this https://fanatec.com/media/archive/b2/98/47/2020-08-17-Fanatec_driver_373.zip one (v373). It's downloadable from the product site https://fanatec.com/eu-en/shifters-others/clubsport-magnetic-paddle-module#downloads
yes thats the one and only 373 :)
thanks, now it's time enjoy my new purchase. CSL Elite PS4 WB, Formula v2 wheel, BMW GT2 wheel, CSP v3 and ClubSport MPM. I hope they are better than my G29 ...just joking :)
Some follow up everything works fine. Only minor issue is that led lights and screen goes wild after every session in F1 2020 (ps4, formula v2 wheel). Led lights and screen freezes whatever state they were between sessions. Everything is back normal when the next session starts. It's most probably game issue.
Do you happen to know why I can't find ABS settings in my wheel settings? Or is it something you only can setup when you connect pedals straight to PC?
ABS was renamed to BLI a year ago or so...^^
Thanks, so higher the BLI number more ABS you have?
Exactly for that reason it was renamed as it has nothing to do with ABS. It controls the level at which the vibration motors start to spin. So 75 means 75 pedal input and then the vibration starts. It has nothing to do with real Abs though
