Problem upgrade software Csl Elite
Hello.Yesterday I decided to update the driver to version 381. I received the message Default hex file loading failed. Now when I turn on the base the LED flashes red and blue and nothing can be done. After restarting the computer and turning on the bass, the message star firmware updater appears, when I press it again, the message Default hex file loading failed and the LED continues flashing. Currently the base is not working, I can't do anythingI would like to add that now, when switching on the base, it does not turn the
steering wheel to the right and left, only the diode lights up when turned on with the power button, it shines red and blue. Nothing else can be done

Did you fully delete the previous fanatec drivers from your PC?
If you have the old driver in the pc, because they are in the same folder the updater doesnt know which HEX file to choose and upload.
Suggest you delete/unistall ALL fanatec related drivers and files from the pc. (I hope you have kept your setting written somewhere so you can re-enter them after the update)
Restart PC.
Download and install new drivers
restart pc.
turn on on PC mode your csl elite
turn on the drivers app
Follow the instructions for updating the drivers.
I installed the latest pc driver. I can not switch the base to pc mode because after starting the base, the indicator light flashes alternately from red to blue and pc sees it and runs the program to uprage, then I press upgrade and the message as above appears.
Did you make sure you have deleted the old drivers before downloading and install the new?
I installed new drivers on the computer on the computer before there were no drivers. While uploading the drivers, the LEDs started blinking red and blue and it stayed that way. The base was working without a problem before. And now, finally dead, windows sees her but still doesn't see the hex file. Hope I don't have to send her back to Fanatec. The button mode also does not react and after switching on the base, no products are turned, i.e. it does not turn the wheel, but the red blue led is lit.
When you saved the drivers did you save it where it was suggested or did you save it on a different folder you have created?
installed where suggested
very strange. if you press the 3 dots ... which window is opening and which HEX files showing?
this is what the files in the fanatec directory look like
Ok. which wheel you have?
Also by latest you mean the 381 I suppose. Not 402 right?
Csl elite F1 yes driver 381
So it is the main base Driver HEX and not the Firmware or the Steering wheel correct?
I installed a 400 driver and such a fireplace
i don't understand what should i do now?
Ok. Switch of the base. Take off your wheel
Uninstall and delete anything related from your PC even if you need to do a manual search.
Restart your pc.
Download, install the above.
Restart the pc.
Open/start the driver driver app.
Press wheel base on button for 10 seconnds to enter bootloader mode.
It will promt you to start the updater again.
It will recognize the base only and update the Wheel base driver and firmware hopefully.
When it is done it should recognize the base at least.
Attach your wheel . Your wheel should be recognized and will ask you to update it as well.
Click to update it.
I took off the wheel as above and installed the program. After starting the base, continue the same message and the indicator light continues to flash alternately red and blue
Then I installed 402 and it looks like this. Nothing works
can you try different USB port?
Mean time since you are encountering this on 402 too post in the section of 402 driver here https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/22210/fanatec-driver-402-before-399-incl-new-firmware-manager-for-csl-csw-and-podium-wb-all-wheels#latest so someone more tech oriented than me can help you.
Also open a support ticket through your account under the My Products tab.
I have already written to them thanks for their help. It's a pity because I'm with equipment that does not work
I was able to solve the problem after 20 hours of searching and reading various forums. However, I think that the Fanatec company has not helped me and their service, however, is sluggish and nobody has written back to me from their department. Now I will wonder if I will ever buy their equipment again. I can't imagine buying a direct drive base that I wanted to buy and be a help. Thank you for help and commitment, Alexandro Annivas
Made up you managed to get sorted mate! It is about time.
The community is great for helping but Fanatec need to change because their customer service is non existent. Would never advise anyone to purchase from Fanatec.
Enjoy your product!
Glad you were able to solve it and you can enjoy your gear.
Sorry I couldn't help more but what was it at the end?
I found a forum post to upload the 289 driver and it fired, but it's an old driver and even the playstation 4 console did not see it. Then I could not upload any driver, always an error when uploading the hex file. Today I took my base to my sister and connected her laptop with windows 7 and it uploaded the latest driver without any problems. I am surprised that Fanatec has not cleaned it up for so many years. People in the forums write about the update problems and the problem with the hex file. It is possible that it was about usb 2.0. As of today, I have lost my trust in Fanatec and I know that I will not buy a Direct Drive database from them. Not with such a service. It will be 2 days soon and no one has responded
One of the reasons that have prompted you to try other USB ports. Maybe that was the issue. (for example in boosted media video where his DD2 fell and he opened apart, he is mentioning the details of the microchip/processor and if you google it and read the list you will notice why the USB 2.0 is the preferable connecting point)
Usually when you open a tech request ticket can take up to 5-7 days to reply depending on the workload of the tech support team. This is why between us in the forum we are trying to help other ops to trouble shoot from our experience so if nothing works at least you can provide full descriptions and steps done when you contact support so you don't loose valuable time between the mail exchanges. 😉
I understand that using usb 2.0 it works fine, but today all new computers, like mine, only have usb 3.0 and higher, in some time there may be a problem with it
