Crickets? Is there anyway to make the funky switch spin left and right only 1 click (how it used to be) instead of the now 3-6 random clicks that it's doing after the 450 update?
It should do only 1 input change when you turn it only 1 time. Whats changed is that previously when you turned a lot of steps very fast then only 1 input was registered and all the other steps were lost - those missed steps are now properly registered. But when you actually only turn the Funky Swiitch 1 click then it should also only give 1 input - at least this is the case in internal testing and you would be the first (and only one) where this would behave different.
Weird, I can try another wheel. I don't think either my BMW V1 or Formula Carbon get FW updates though so that's why I figured it had to be something in the base itself with this latest firmware.
I'am pretty sad right now, because I updated to the new driver (using DD1) and now the Driver Software Crashing issue is back. I really cant believe it... I couldnt use Fanatec Driver Software during 446 for months and finally 448 fixed this and now its crashing again... and the worst part about it, I reinstalled 448 and this is crashing now, too... really great. So disappointed... how can you guys release a Driver which crashes when I open control panel and my wheel is turned on? How is this possible? ... and yes, I think it will work when I unplug my V3 pedals from the Base but this shouldnt be the solution!
To answer your question why we release a driver which crashes exclusively for you and how this is possible, simple answer: Nobody else has this issue, not here in the forums nor internally. And this driver was available for testing for 2 months now and NOBODY else reported this.
Therefore it's something special on your config and not a general issue. And tbh it even sounds like a hardware issue when it's not crashing when pedals are not connected to the base. That indicates a possible hardware issue of the RJ12 Port or the pedals.
To help the devs to figure out what's wrong for you exclusively you should always upload log files when you experience crashes. Without them it is impossible to help you.
when i try to perfom the 450 update for the base or motor the update tool simply reports an error ( base not detected) after some time. the base keeps blinking blue. I have to remove the power plug and re-insert before i can use the base again. Motor and Wheel update just fine
Try a different USB Port or run the repair function of the driver when the base is set to the non-working mode.
Such issues can happen when installing the driver with the base powered off. Base always needs to be powered on during driver installation. Such issues also can happen when using a USB Hub or USB extension cable which is both not recommended.
This is an internet photo of the same error. My motor updated fine!
using software 450. I can take a screen of my error but its exactly this. Base keeps blinking blue. After power cycle everything works perfect just not updated base
I'm using Driver 450 but have had the same issue the last few releases...I have a set of V3 pedals connected directly to my CSL-DD and I did connect them via USB (only) to upgrade them.
When I go into the Fanatec Control Panel, if I click on "Pedals via Base" the control panel will crash. Two events are generated Windows's Application Log. They're attached.
Seems your .NET Runtime installation is faulty as it misses some DLL files according to the logs. Therefore also the iRacingLiveTiming.exe and a lot of other programs are crashing for you a lot of times, seems all related to a faulty .NET Runtime installation.
You should uninstall / reinstall the .NET Runtime on your computer and try again.
With the last update of windows 11 I had to reinstall v450 drivers, when I enter the control panel continuously appears in a loop the window to allow the installation, and no matter how many times you press accept.
After update of base of CSL Elite bundle (https://fanatec.com/us-en/bundles/csl-elite-f1-set-officially-licensed-for-playstation) to 692 firmware I noticed during race that spinning the button on screenshot gives not 1 but several pushes. My break bias is assigned to that control so I could not reliably change that during race. In the Fanatec Control Panel I tested and when I spin for 1 point it showed like I spin 3 or 4 times.
Then please upgrade again to 692 to provide the video.
Otherwise the issue most likely will never get fixed because nobody internally had this issue since the change regarding the FunkySwitch was first introduced 8 months ago.

thanks, i will try to do that. the steering base was enable at the time of the update. Mb this problem because i use USB hub.
Same thing. But i can't update FW even manually
I get this error:
No USB Hub, maybe a different pc? And deleting al the previous drivers
Your Motor seems to be broken as it shows 0.0.0.0.
Thisnis usually a hardware issue which can only be solved by a repair by the support.
But why do you use driver 410?!🤔

The CSL-DD is in PC mode
Wheel Base FW = 1.1.85
Wheel Base Motor = 1.0.3.2

The same happes to me, wheel base update ok, but i can't update motor firmware nor wheel firmware.
I have CSL DD with boost kit, and the mclaren v2 wheel.
With the last update of windows 11 I had to reinstall v450 drivers, when I enter the control panel continuously appears in a loop the window to allow the installation, and no matter how many times you press accept.
That's normal.
After every big Windows Update you need to reinstall the driver.
where can I find the latest beta driver?
There is no latest beta driver available.
Latest driver 450 is official and can be found on www.fanatec.com/driver or in the first post of this thread.
The issue is still there ,happened again during a driving session, seems the same of 447.
What the hold up with the latest release 450 is poo the force feed back ain't consistent and is different every time I use my base
also still have the fan blowing randomly when switching on
also sometimes when I turn on my base it like pauses and none of my buttons work on my wheel which I have to turn on and off
these error/glitches only appear on initial start up of my base
are they known glitches?
Yes for issues 2 and 3.
Your first issue I dont understand and nobody else ever reported something similar.
I had the very same issue after updating to 692 base firmware on my CSL Elite F1 bundle.
Downgraded to 691 and issue disappeared.
What issue with which wheel.
You made sure to really turn the FunkySwitch just 1 click?

Please provide a video as this Kind of issue could not be reproduced in internal testing for 8 months.
I've downgraded to 691 already and it works for me as expected now.
Then please upgrade again to 692 to provide the video.
