Hello,
I just had the following issue where my base suddenly lost connection even though the base was still powered on. I'm sending you the clip so you can see what happened. I had this happen once before in F1 22. I'm playing on PS5, and my base is the GT DD Pro 8Nm.
What could this be? Is it a game bug? System issue? Base firmware problem? Either way, I was really disappointed. It was a great race until that point.

losing connection between game and device can happen if game loses focus, like some other app or folder takes the focus for him instead
something like this by default should not happen with ps5 so dunno, it looks you video like you lose connection at time when you hit track curb
maybe there was some EMI involved for this
But how could that happen? There was no download, no app running in the background or anything like that. It happened right in the middle of the race.
Okay, I was using the recording function in the background, but that has never caused issues before, and the recording was actually running at the time. It has happened to me even without recording.
what you could try is add PS5 power supply cable opposite to the power socket, maybe there is some grounding issue somewhere.
I didn't quite understand what's going on with the power cable. Where should I plug it in now? It's currently plugged into a power strip.
add that opposite to the power strip then.
another issue could be also the usb cable because from there ground is running to the base
I suspect this is a problem that occurs only once in a thousand races. It seems that the USB port of the PS5 had some kind of low voltage at that moment.
What do you think, should I try using a new USB cable (Type-C to Type-A)?
if you have some better one laying at home.
made in china cheap ones may not help if that is issue what i thinking atm.

what are you thinking atm? with the EMI?
i think maybe too thin usb cable, and it loose voltage between ps5 and fanatec base, as you suspect too lower power in ps5 socked
but bad grounding could also make issues by mess the signal self
in pc world, if usb port not have enough power it could blue screen your pc self, so it could be issue at there even in ps5
you could try add cables the ferride aswell but im little skeptic about this because fanatec usb cables have those already
the reason why i suggested turn around power cord at socked is because one line is neutral at there and that almost act as ground, it could help but not guarantee

Keep in mind that electric motors are the major contributors to EMI emissions. For how much electric stuff you have around, DD himself is probably the biggest culprit.
What seems to have happened to me, and others is that when the wheelbase is bolted to the cockpit the metallic electrical contact between the wheelbase and cockpit starts to circulate the parasitic currents into the cockpit, rather than dispersing them towards the ground. The ground connection is probably not very efficient, and these currents prefer the simplest way, i.e. the one with a lower resistance.
When I speak of connection to ground, I mean earth, the planet earth. The ground pin of the electrical system is just connected to a solid metal prong in the house ground. That's where all the EMI crap should go, but for some reason they aren't. So either you make them go into the ground, or you reduce their intensity.
Add ferrite cores to the USB cable, on both sides. You may have to add more than one. These ferrite cores act essentially like inductors, and reduce eddy currents. However their inductance is a function of the frequency of the currents they are to reduce, so they do not have a well defined ability to reduce these currents, many of them may need to be added to achieve sufficient inductance.
Ferrite cores, cheap and simple to use. This should give you an indication if you're on the right way.
Grounding your cockpit, especially the plate to which you screwed the wheelbase is a permanent solution. A highway is created for eddy currents towards earth. It must be done with a certain criterion, keeping in mind that paints or anodizing of aluminum are insulating and must be removed at the point of contact for earthing.

fanatec body case self is not grounded at all, only what is grounded each other is the fanatec base electronics thro the usb cable what is connected to pc or console.
does you cockpit is grounded or not? fanatec really not responsible for ground the 3 party products first place
Today, I drove for about 30-45 minutes at a time throughout the day, and there were no issues to report. Everything went smoothly. Perhaps the base was running for "too long" yesterday, and it was quite warm in my room due to the temperatures. Maybe everything was just "too much" for the base yesterday. The base ran continuously for over 3 hours yesterday. I'll check in over the next few days, and I have another league race tomorrow. Let's see how it goes there. I haven't made any changes for now.

well if you devise was still on, then that was not a case that you run 3 hours
Yes, I think if it had overheated, the base would have shut down. Who knows, maybe it was indeed some kind of "power fluctuation" or the PS5 didn't provide enough voltage. Who knows. I hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon. A colleague experienced the same issues with the same base in the same game; he mentioned that it helped to turn the base off and on again for about half an hour before the race. Since then, it has been working for him. It seems to be a common issue with Fanatec or the GT DD Pro.
Many people in general are complaining about issues in the F1 games.
I've also read some reports from other users here, and it seems like some of them are experiencing outages every 5-10 minutes. That's really intense, and fortunately, I'm not experiencing that. However, I seriously considered buying ferrite cores and attaching them to the cables as an additional measure.
metal cockpit could act as antenna if its not grounded, if that what people talk here about they EMI issues

I just had another league race, as already written. Same conditions as the day of the incident. I have to admit that no errors occurred. I was able to finish the race normally without the technology spinning again or even failing. I simply switched the base off again before the race and switched it on again. So you have an update on this case. Thank you for all your comments and the constructive exchange of experiences.
