CSW 2.5 Dropping FFB Mid Corner
Hi All,
My CSW2.5 has started playing up mid-corners by dropping FFB completely.
I could be mid corner or just at corner entry, and when turning in the FFB just stops completely resulting in me turning way too much/crashing.
After this happens the FFB slowly regains "strength" over about 3-5 seconds.
This issue happens randomly when turning and sometimes every lap at a particular corner. Both left and right turns.
Main game I play is Assetto Corsa Competizione, I haven't run into this issue on any other game but I haven't played any recently.
I have slightly tightened the inside pins on the wheelbase and wheel rim (ForumulaV2)
I have changed the USB slot on the PC, reseated the cable that connects into the wheelbase and reseated the power cable.
PC Driver: 415
WB FW: 686
SW FW: 41
If you have any other ideas or solutions please share.
Thanks

other games ? and change driver, i am on 434, same hardware as you. no problems encountered so far
I've recently tried on iRacing and get the same FFB loss. Will try the recent PC driver
Updated to 434 and driven for a couple of hours without issue. Lets hope this solved it. Cheers
I didn't realise you had to manually install the PC driver as I thought everything was up to date in the Fanatec Control Panel
I spoke too soon, seems to be happening again, but now I am loosing down shifting
@Ryan Hoolihan, any update on your situation?
im having the same issue with my CS 2.5 base and F1 2021 wheel. Not sure if it is related or not, but steering wheel also has lost the right thumb encoder function.
Ok, in case any other poor soul ends up here through a google search or anything. It’s most likely that your FFB is clipping in iRacing and you need to lower the “Strength” in options->Drive tab.
set your wheel force to 8Nm (max for CS 2.5) and lower the value above it (“Strenght”).
Seems similar to this:

Hi,
This issue still comes up every now and then. Not as bad as before, but I havent done anything different to what I posted above. Very strange. it could have something to do with the FFB clipping at max strength as the FFB in ACC is alot stronger than in iRacing for me, and I get the majority of drop outs on ACC.
I think the issue is coming from the Formula V2 rim rather than the wheelbase, as I have connected a CSL Elite round rim and it appears to be working without issue.
Mine was definitely clipping. Increasing iRacing s “strength/Max Force” slider lowered the overall force through the steering wheel, but got rid of clipping at the corners where turning forces were becoming greater than the 8 Nm CSW v2.5 can provide.
This is very annoying, it keeps coming randomly and it seems to happen when ffb spikes. I have tried reinstalling drivers and/or fanalab, reinstalling assetto corsa, changing usb hub, ffb clipping app, nothing seems to work. I do believe that this is a driver error and fanatec should check it out.
Update: I noticed that the clipping happens at the beginning of any race, when wheel temperature rises and fans start to blow the clipping no longer occurs. So it seems to be temperature related?
I am also having this issue again on my CSW v2.5. The FFB will cut-out mid corner and cause the wheel to snap by losing resistance for 4 seconds before the FFB returns. Mind you this is the same corner consistently on iracing when the turning input is past like 90°. The wheelbase still detects input but from my wheel I am not sure if it is the wheel related or base related. The downshifts and upshifts also become delayed/cut out in the process. I am on both updated drivers for PC and am using a BMW M3 GT2 v2 wheel
