are you talk about that issue what not allows detect hardware in PC mode?

  • E YE Y Member

Nothing ever works with Fanatec. Customer service here is non existent.

Just sold all my stuff and jumped to Simagic best decision ever.

  • that is not fully true, they to work but sometimes need use older versions instead

  • I am not very confident in Fanatec's product support at the moment for obvious reasons. Mainly these driver issues. But Fanatec has put out some nice product historically and has a pretty well rounded ecosystem. I'm pretty invested so I will stick around for a minute and give them a chance to get their driver support back on point. Time to shine.

This is what happens when the wheel gets disconnected.. looks like the culprit is WQR which goes to 0.0.0.0 . The only way to fix this is to restart the wheelbase , release the wheel and reseat the wheel. All of this happening during LFM races is really frustrating too.. I hope this is something that can be fixed soon.. happens on 464 and 462..

  • WQR 0.0.0.0 sounds more like a non-fixable hardware issue.

  • so does that mean I should contact support for a RMA ?

  • Thanks Maurice. Logged a case with support. Lets see how this goes..

  • Hi Fanatec-Team,

I’m using a CSL DD (with 8NM Boostkit) with a CS Formula V2 PS5 wheel with APM and QR2 standard + CSL Pedals with load cell. Downshifts and upshift are frequently missed or delayed when turning into o corner or exiting a corner (i.e. when steering force is applied while trying to shift up or down) which makes the wheel/wheel base combination basically UNUSEABLE.

I have tried the following things to fix the problem (none of them worked):

    • Driver 462, 463 and 464 with the with the respective firmware for each component
    • Assigning the shifting to different paddles of the APM
    • Assigning the shifting to buttons on the wheel (to exclude that the issue is related to the APM)
    • Tightening all screws of the wheel and QR2
    • Different simulations (usually I only use iRacing but to confirm that the issue is not related to the SIM, I tested Automobilist 2, facing the same issue)

The shifting (when no torque is applied) works perfect. The shifting also works perfect when I switch back to my old McLaren V1 wheel with QR2 lite, which makes me assume that it is not an issue of the wheelbase but of the CS Formula wheel V2 PS5 wheel. The shifting also works under steering when the FFB intensity is reduced to 30% or below…which again makes the wheel UNUSABLE due to the flimsy FFB feeling.

Side note 1: With the recent 464 driver, the „calibration circle“ of the analog stick has vanished from the Fanatec control panel

Side note 2: Although the wheel does not feature vibration motors in the grips the control panel offers vibration motor test.

Side note 3: The Fanatec control panel shows an image of a similar wheel but not the actual version of the CS Formula V2 PS5 (with closed bottom bracket)

Side note 4: Also I read in some comments of the Fanatec Forum that older driver/firmware versions might have worked better (i.e. driver 455), but I’m reluctant to install that version and manually downgrade the wheel firmware to the old two digit semantic version since I’m afraid that might brick the hardware/wheel.

I assume the missed shift issue is driver/firmware related, otherwise please let me know how to solve the issue. If my assumption is correct, please advise when driver and firmware fixes can be expected.

Let me know if further information is required.

    Thank you and best regards,

    AJ

  • Hello.

    Happy Holidays.

I don't want to come off ride but i have a question i am quite frustrated about...

Since 2021 [https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/24389/fanatec-driver-434-release-candidate-previously-432beta-for-csl-csw-and-podium-wb-all-wheels/p12#] i've been dealing with my Podium Button Module randomly freezing while playing AMS2 and it's been raised and never fixed. I saw in your recent change logs that this is either "known" or perhaps fixed but this is still not the case. As a workaround i've been unplugging and replugging in the USB port of the hub but now i am starting to feel i am risking myself of port damage from so many cycles of doing so. In addition to this now i am also seeing misshifts which seem to be related to the last driver which I am on (463).

So I want to politely ask while very furiously express what are my options here to minimize this and/or fix it? Being that this is your "Podium" top of the line products, you all really need to find a solution here to these on-going problems for your brand.

Happy to provide any details requested that may help. I am using a DD2 on a WIN10 PC. Thank you.

  • You should contact the support as this is most likely a connection issue, so hardware related, not firmware related.

if its related this PDD error and out off nowhere com port speed increases, i'm not surprised anything that its a some sort drivers bug. but need see error logs first

you could try if it happens also with other drivers, i think somewhere one user even tell its because off WQR firmware what may cause freeze

in 455 there is also this kind error what shows that you hardware is messed up. but restart help. so i would not bet 100% for hardware issue

  • but you are still here trying to convince others that you made a good decision, but the reality is that most of us couldn't care less what you do. you get the results you deserve

    Hello everyone,

I have a question for this release,

Is it stable? Any known issue? I have the 457 release installed and it is pretty stable.

Does this release require some "old" drivers to be installed as well (example with the old releases it was better if you would not install the quick release driver or the wheel driver, instead I would keep old and new drivers together in order for them to work properly).

    Hope I explained myself.

    Thanks

  • Thank you for the guidance. Would you still feel this is the case if it only happens with AMS2 and not other sims? I use AC, ACC, RF2, RRE, LMU, ETS/ATS and this never happened there...strange that it only occurs with a particular sim which sadly is my go to favorite and I play most...

i to had weird issue with ASM2 , when i hit to wall , my dd2 disconnected, but not sure why. maybe there some ffb defense activated at in base because off vibration . dunno really

  • my CSL DD 8nm with the clubsport Esports F1 v2 wheel, after updating the 464 driver, the wheel keeps turning one way and the other and the red and green light turns on and off and it doesn't turn on and it doesn't recognize it on the fanatec control panel , I already went back to other drivers and it didn't solve the problem, I already removed the QR2 from the usbc engine and replaced it and nothing, I don't know what to do anymore, I'm already losing hope.

  • Hi everyone, hi Maurice, yesterday I finally received my new dd+ after sending the old one for assistance, the problem was that with the Porsche endurance steering wheel the FFB was going away and the buttons didn't work anymore, yesterday I updated everything to 464, today the steering wheel did the same, it's not possible that they sent me another defective dd+!! Could it be a software problem? I know I've already asked, but it's absurd!!!

Nicolo, can you check what the WQR driver version says when its loosing ffb and buttons that dont work. If you look at my previous post I have the same issue as well.

could it be that its the podium module driver thats causing the issue with 464 / 462 ?

go back to 455 and try fix it at there with firmware

but because that version have self some issues. you to need make sure that you todo base restart self as well before you actually start todo any firmware updates

if that not helps either and this 0.0.0.0 not disappear then you need send your base to repair

  • Hi Marsha, i play from PS5, how can i see it? because if i connect to the PC when i have the problem i need to switch the mode from PS to PC, i think i don't see it.

  • Hi Allan, i received the new base on Tuesday, i sent my old base for the same problem, in the old base i downgraded to 455 and everything was working, Maurice says it's a hardware problem of some base that don't support new updates for too much data trasm

  • i to know that, its technically impossible send 300 Mhz speed to 70Mhz

but i guess if make some-sort sync between two hardware and tell. hey im ready, send new data then i guess its possible

  • Hello my friend, to solve your shifter issue temporaly, which I also encountered when receiving my 2.5 wheel this morning, I had to install firmware 455 and downgrade the wheel firmware to 0.3.5.0 only, as version 1.0.2.0 causes the shifter bug. after you can reinstall the package 464 without update your wheel. @Fanatec, Can you resolve it please ? thank you

if its a firmware issue then simply using older drivers alone not help

  • Xbox issues with CSL DD and Universal Hub

I recently updated to 464 and everything worked for a few hours. Now the funky switch, BAXY, other wheel buttons are no longer working on my Xbox. They are registering as active in Fanalab.

I purchased a CSL DD with Universal Hub in Sept of 2024 and everything worked great. I never updated the drivers just plugged into my Xbox straight out of the box.

Has anyone else had issues with the buttons stopping function? What was the fix?

Sorry Allan. Just to confirm what you said,

I go back to 455 drivers on my PC

manual downgrade the fw to the base version.

upgrade the drivers to latest but not upgrade the fw.

Is that right ? After I restart the base and the wheel I can see WQR FW version back at 1.1.0.3 but it goes to 0.0.0.0 when the wheel loses ffb and all buttons functionality. Doesnt happen everytime I play but happens often enough that its annoying and stops me from participating in LFM races..

ah ok. may be its a PC only issue as the wheel is fairly stable for me on PS5. After restarting the base and the wheel, WQR version is correct. But on PC, it does disconnect ever so often and WQR goes to 0.0.0.0 (thats when i dont have any buttons working & loose ffb etc).

I think we have the same problem but happening on multiple bases, might be HW or FW/SW. I havent heard back from Fanatec Support about my issue so not sure how to progress from here.

  • So I upgraded to the latest driver and firmware. I have a CSL DD 8nm, with Clubsport 2.5x wheel. The buttons never had issues before but now I'm getting miss shifts and even in the fanatec wheel menu I can see sometimes the picture doesn't light up when I push the buttons sometimes. Its most obvious when moving the left stick you can see a delay if you flick it round in cercles and often sticks for a few seconds in a certain direction. But thats all bad enough but I've had another issue with all of my EA games and anti cheat. Every game I launch during the spash screen came up with an Error (7) (2) and it was after I updated to the latest firmwire and driver. I didn't connect the issue and thought it was un realated. Turns out after a week of trying to fix the issue it is caused by the CSL DD when in red mode. As soon as I switch it to orange or unplug my base it works and launches BF2042, FC24 and F1 24. I plug it back in or change it to red mode and launching a game with EA anti cheat and I get error (7) (2)
