380 is out since a week or so. You can give that a try for sure. Also try without running Fanalab as it's unlikely to be a Fanalab issue and should be better discussed in the correct driver Feedback thread.
It should be clear at this point that nobody knows exactly why this Freezes are happening as that's still under investigation.
Per your screen shot, I see F driver named as UserDrive. Is that the drive you use to install your programs? Like others said, it shouldn't be possible to have an empty AppData. Even Windows itself uses that folder (per screen shot in my last comment)
Hi everyone, I'm new to Fanatec and relatively new to sim racing too, taking delivery of my CS V2.5 wheel base tomorrow together with CSL wheelrim and V3 pedals =) I was wondering if I should use fanalabs from the get go or stick with the drivers from the Fanatec website (Fanatec wheel property page software) as I don't really want to risk messing up things. Also I want to point out that I like to also run some old sims like RBR and R Factor2. Thanks four your answers!
The drivers are necessary for the wheel to function at all. Fanalab on the other hand is optional but highly recommended, as you can save and load profiles per game and per car, change and customize LED pattern and ofc ITM for the BME + several FFB effects.
fanalabs starts and closes, yesterday I had to format the PC, and with the new installation, fanalab doesn't work, the solution to delete the "PodiumControl" folder, it's impossible because I don't have it on my PC.
I had the same issue with the self closing fanalab yesterday.
I planned to format and re install windows tomorow, how can I save my presets to get it back when I will have a fresh install ? (I will install the 1.51 version then)
FanaLab has a export function implemented but to save time (as you would need to save all your profiles one by one because there is no global export function for everything) just open C:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Fanatec\FanaLab and save that settings folder which you then can simply copy/paste back to that location after your windows install.
I have another question about fanalab: when 1.47 came out I messed up one thing with my old profiles exportation and all my game profiles are saved as profile number 2 ("back in the day" I had n°1 for assetto, n°2 for rf2, n°3 for r3e, n°4 for dirt and n°5 for f1) so how can I set my profiles on the good number on the wheel (I know that when everything is working fine, the profile number is useless but I can use it to quickly check if the good profile is loaded)
I guess I will have to save my profiles one by one to restore them, but even if fanalab has improved to get more user friendly, I confess I am still not very comfortable with its use.
I failed until I found out I only edited the line <SetupIndex>1</SetupIndex> which had no effect, I came to post that I didn't see the line <SETUPIDX>1</SETUPIDX>

What does this mean: "it's I likely to be a Fanalab issue and should be better discussed in the correct driver Feedback thread."
Unlikely
AppData can NEVER be empty.
This can't be possible... Any settings to hide the folders?
you should have these 3:

Thank you for all your help.
Perfect! Have fun!
Nice. Glad you got FanaLab back.

Is there a non beta version of the fanalab software that you can recommend to me? Or should I just go with the 1.47? Thanks again
1.47 is the only non beta version.
If you go with the latest release candidate driver you have to use 1.47. Not every driver is compatible with every version of Fanalab.

Any other solution?
Now it started correctly without doing anything
Cheers

Hi.
I had the same issue with the self closing fanalab yesterday.

Thanks, this is a very useful trick.

Edit the profile manually with a text editor and I believe the line <SETUPIDX>1</SETUPIDX> is what you want to update.
I failed until I found out I only edited the line <SetupIndex>1</SetupIndex> which had no effect, I came to post that I didn't see the line <SETUPIDX>1</SETUPIDX>
Thanks Austen.
