Yeah so know, with the latest Driver/Firmware on F1 2020, the wheel did not freeze, however it shut down...The wheel shuts down and I lose all FFB. The ITM on DD1 is still working and pedals too. The wheel however boot up itself after few seconds. (I had the same problem on my McLaren V2 on the previous driver)
And I still have this problem where when I turn on the DD1, the wheel does not boot up. At least 1/5 time it does not boot up.
I am waiting for an answer from support but I do not think it's a driver issue, as I thought earlier. I will ask them if I can send them the DD1 for inspection...
Last try is tomorrow as I will recieve a new USB Cable. Apparently it worked for Gary so let's see...
if the base boots itself again after a couple of seconds you might suffer a bad USB port or your USB went into power save mode. Try to disable the USB power saver in windows please and switch the USB port.
If the base sometimes doesn't turn on at all you maybe want to contact the support. The power button could be broken.
Thank you for your reply Sascha. The Base never shuts down. Only the Wheel does. Whether the wheel does not boot up when turning on the Base, or the wheel shuts down suddenly while playing. (Base stays on)
Technically, the wheel should tun on with the Base, even if theUSB is not plugged right?
ah sorry then I misunderstood you. If only the wheel shuts down the connection between wheel and base is broken, do you have another wheel to test this?
I already contacted support as I do not think I will find the problem and I know they have a huge backlog. So I will still test other drvivers, wheels etc during the week... Thanks for your help Sascha!
DD2 & R300 podium Wheel were running latest non-beta drivers. Windows 10 fully patched. Everything was working fine for the first time in months after reinstalling windows two weeks ago.
Updated to 399 beta, despite prompting to save and restore settings were set to defaults.
No matter what I do Wheel Properties page doesn't detect the wheel when placed in Comp 2.5 mode, it does in PC mode.
After downgrading to previous driver blah blah blah still doesn't detect the wheel base in Comp 2.5 mode. I had the sense to Create a restore point prior to installing the update, this was the only way I able to undo problems after a previous failed update. Wish me luck it works again. Gotta love Fanatec...
reinstall v399. and now surprisingly it does the base boot twist like it always has. However. I hear a buzz coming from the base so far new to me. I do not know if it will be the same as was commented on the cws 2.5 bases. it is a small hum that comes from the base when you are piloting. If you stop, stop. If it persists today I will downgrade to v381 again And check if it continues to do so. Otherwise the steering wheel and base work correctly.
Driver V399 with all its new Firmware: No more Freezes, however Steering Wheel shuts down after apr. 20 min
Driver V380 with all its Firmware, still got the shutdowns after apr. 20 min of playing.
Driver V381 with all its Firmware, but this time I also reinstalled the WQR V6 Firmware (even though it was already V6): No freezes, NO Shuts down after 30 min of playing.
I will keep playing with the V381 see what happens. I might stick to it if there are no issues, as I am afraid the V399 will bring back the shuts down & freezes.
But then please dont complain about not-found issues in a stable driver because you didnt helped testing this release Candidate driver which is supposed to be the next stable driver going to all webshop pages IF no big issues are found which of course can only be found when a lot of people are testing... ;)
Hi Marcel - thanks for the latest RC driver. Was wondering whether you had recreated my issue in testing and fixed? Or do you think it's something that likely is episodic in my case? Thanks!
Deciding not to test unreleased software should not be used as a 'reason'to deny users the right to comment on issues that are found further down the release process. Hope this was meant to be a joke!
Comments
It was at zero. Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't occur to me that this setting would also disable the test button.
so the issue is I had a few Arduino's plugged in and that was messing up the FW updater. Once I unplugged those, it worked fine.
Im not sure if this was the case before, but 7th gear doesnt show in the wheel properties page for the 1.5 shifter.
All the gears work once calibrated, but there is no graphic for gear 7. '7' displays on the wheel, so it has definitely calibrated
which wheel do you have? I can't confirm the 7th gear missing on the property page.
ive got the formula v2 and the bmw gt2. Although i dont think either was connected at the time.
Ive just tried it with the v2 attached, and i can see 7th gear now...
im an idiot. sorry
Hello Marcel/Maurice, wondered if there was any update to the investigations around the CSW2.5 notchyness with Motor firmware V22?
Hello Team,
Since Driver 371 my Pedals V3 and Wheel Base V2 dissapear from the Game Controller after restart the computer.
To fix this i must re-install the driver 347.
Today i try with driver 399, same issue, but it's more critical now.
The wheel base was in Bootloader Mode and stuck. no other option to quit this mode without remove Power feed.
Now the wheel base dont start. no red light on the power button, no move from the steering wheel, nothing....
Any advice to recovery my wheel base???
Thank you
Francois
Hi Fanatec team,
I have my first and new fanatec hardware now.
CS WB 2.5
Porsche 918 rsr wheel
Pedals V3
I downloades fanalab, the 399 drivers and Firmware update the wheelbase 2.5, V3 Pedals. ok. All good
What about the Porsche 918 wheel and Firmware? Is some new here or what Firmware is here o flash ?
Or don't need this a new firmware.
best reagards
Chrizz
Porsche 918 is a very old wheel without it's own firmware
Yes, but I like this wheel and it feels -and the driving is fantastic. The look also.
When it don't need a new firmware, ok. All working in my opinion good. I love the motors in the wheel for the brake feedback.

Yes the base should also turn on without the USB.
No worries! Yes happened with the McLaren V2 and Formula V2. I need to try with the Porsche GT3 Wheel.
I suspect 3 things:
Wheelbase hardware issue / Power Cable issue / Driver & Firmware issue
I already contacted support as I do not think I will find the problem and I know they have a huge backlog. So I will still test other drvivers, wheels etc during the week... Thanks for your help Sascha!

Reverting back to previous driver.
Yes I read the instructions.

System Restore worked, had to manually reconfigure wheel property settings.

DD1 PS4
driver V399
Motor v40
Wheel v40
Made new tests:
Driver V399 with all its new Firmware: No more Freezes, however Steering Wheel shuts down after apr. 20 min
Driver V380 with all its Firmware, still got the shutdowns after apr. 20 min of playing.

The driver shouldn't be the reason for the wheel freeze, maybe the reflashed FW for the WQR fixed the issue for you. Great news!
I cannot tick the box to save my tuning menu options... having the CSL Elite Base :(
Because the old CSL Elite v1 doesnt support this feature (because it doesnt support the Tuning Menu through driver at all).
Driver v400 available
Hotfix to replace v399
Is that a beta or an official driver? Thanks!
Release Candidate ;)
Ok Sascha thanks, I'm asking cause I'd like to download the official when it's going to release!
But then please dont complain about not-found issues in a stable driver because you didnt helped testing this release Candidate driver which is supposed to be the next stable driver going to all webshop pages IF no big issues are found which of course can only be found when a lot of people are testing... ;)
