Updating should not be an issue. There are rare cases that a base might break during a FW update but in most of the cases it was a sleeping hardware issue causing the failure and it would have happened anyway sooner or later.
Currently it's not possible do a min/max calibration for the handbrake when connected to the base directly, it's so far only possible when connected via the pedals. This is why the buttons were removed from the driver UI for this case. Firmware developers are working on making it possible to calibrate the handbrake also via the base and as soon as this works we'll add the buttons back into the driver UI
the problem comes from update 423 to 428. before steering wheel was not disconnected. the mode change buttons on the base continue to function. It is as if it went into sleep mode.
I tried for my DD1 ps Version Wheelbase the new 248 driver with the TEST Motorfirmware and I must say the feeling is much improved to the 415 and 423 driver package. I'm very happy with that and wanted to say a big thanks to all developers and persons who are getting this better and better.💪
I'm mostly playing F1 2021 on PC and PS5 and it works super good!
no you dont. Its intentionally missing, read above, no need for Logs.^^ Only available for now when the HB is connected to the pedals, not when connected to the Base (same behaviour as in old UI).
When I rolled back to an older driver the game stopped crashing, so I'm not entirely sure that is correct.
SOMETHING between 424 and Horizon 5 was not working. Whether its something Fanatec can fix or not, I don't know. But I hope it gets sorted with one of these upcoming drivers because 424 felt way better FFB wise than my old driver that works fine with the game.
Yes everyone has it. Including Thrustmaster and Logitech users. It's a (massive) game issue which the game devs try to fix with a game update this week.
Just to update on this, Forza Horizon Twitter account announced yesterday that a hot fix coming this week that mentions updating wheel support. They also formally announced the Fanatec crash issues(and many Thrustmaster/Logitech probs) on their running tab of outstanding bugs on their own site.
I have to agree with Michael on this issue. I have over 30 years of electrical engineering experience with embedded software development and specifically Software Quality and Test - there are issues on your side. I am not looking to point any fingers about who owns any fault, rather let's dig in and find the root cause of why a driver from 2019 works without crashing a new game so all of the many customers can enjoy your amazing products. The software you have developed is quite impressive, I really like the new layout screens, firmware updater and I also understand the challenges with board support packages - especially with so many platforms and games to cover (my hat's off to you).
I also want to say that I was extremely impressed with the quality and design itself (genius!), but mostly the performance of the CSL DD - a Total Game Changer in every way!
as a note for the developers, I updated the CSL DD firmware using the latest 428 build but downgraded the Widows driver package to the 346 version and while it isn't a perfect match, it does function in Horizon 5 without crashing it (I test the full 428 driver first - killed the game right after leaving my virtual house). I am running Windows 11 on a high-end machine (3080Ti and i9-11900K).
As mentioned several times now it's fully a game issue which will be fixed with a game Patch this week according to a recent tweet of the Forza game devs. See one post about your here.
To be fair though, on a similar subject, I really miss playing Forza Horizon 3 with my wheel. For whatever reason, past a certain point the FFB stopped functioning. Wheel/pedals work fine for turning, etc., but no FFB. If I roll back to v311 firmware all works again as intended, but future packages suddenly killed FFB in that game.
Game is delisted so no hope of fixes on their end, but given v311 makes it functional I have wondered if there is something on the Fanatec side that can be brought forward to fix that?
You can also check in the old UI by opening it via the USB Gamecontroller overview of Windows. If it's showing normal there, then it's "just" a display issue of the new UI. We'll have a look ourselves as well.

Glad I could help, thanks for the feedback.

Hi,
Is it worth upgrading to V428 for CSW V2.5, F1 2018 V2 and CSL EP LC?
Hi all
It's my very first post in this forum.

A question!!. Can v40 engine be installed with v427 driver ??
Thank you, I appreciate your help. If there's anything I could try to resolve this issue please let me know.
Anyone here try playing Forza horizon 5 with 424 and have constant crashes in cut scenes after events?
If so, does this driver work?
I had to roll back to my old beta driver (336 was the one I was using) in order to get the game to stop crashing.

It IS a game issue which the game devs already aknowledged. Fix coming with a game update this week according to their Twitter.
CSL DD 1.0.5.3 & 1.0.1..3
CSL WRC 4
CSP V2
4.28 completely stalls when the V2's are attached, forever spinning circle.
Roll back to 4.23 and its ok again.
When you install an older driver V356 you can play Horizon 5 ,i have it test it for 4 Hours yesterday .

Very possible in the next day or two this may be addressed somewhat. Just be patient it seems at least they have made it clear they are aware.

New driver 429
(updated first post)
UI
P DD Firmware
Then please go back to 423 and the firmware it had to confirm that the issue is gone again.
Depends on from which version you are coming from but generally there were little changes in the latest versions regarding the products you mention.
Thanks for the feedback
I would love to adjust my break pedal within a margin of 0 - 100% but if i press the pedal to the floor it shows 1602%. Any idea how to fix this?
Is the problem influenced by the wheel or the pedals being connected or not connected?
Do you mean the base stalls and turns in a circle or the driver UI?
Then we can take a closer look ourselves
Does it work normally in a game?
You can also check in the old UI by opening it via the USB Gamecontroller overview of Windows. If it's showing normal there, then it's "just" a display issue of the new UI. We'll have a look ourselves as well.
Same problem here with the CSL Elite Pedals LC using USB adapter in the new UI on driver 428.
On the old UI and in games (tested AC, ACC and Raceroom so far) works OK, so it seems to be only an UI issue.
