At the initial release of a driver they are always beta until proven to work good enough to be put on the website. A lot of times a beta driver is just considered non beta two weeks after it was on the forum. We test a lot of things internally before we put them in the forum and lots of versions don't even get here, but the almost unlimited amount of hardware combinations of customers is the real and final test each driver has to go through and there is no way around this.
So, my next question is, as releases go, is there going to be an update to the stable drivers ( non beta) . I'd like to be able to take advantage of the 16 bit but as stated before the 356 driver bricked my dd1.
The issue seemed to be related to the use of the f1 se/v2 rims but havent seen much talk on the fix for these rims. Etc.
I have something on Assetto Corsa, I don't know if it's "jolts" but if I let open the tuning menu ingame to adjust some effects, 2 or 3 times in a lap I have "Knocks" like when I turn off the DD but stronger.. When I close the tuning menu it disapear :)
Since the start, first batch, first firmware, I Always experienced a coilwhine on power supply… But switching Low torque mode to High torque mode solved this.
Now since the update on V352 I always have it, but switching torque modes don't solve it anymore. In high torque the coilwhine is quieter but still present a little time.
In the case I play immediately it disappear quickly because I put my headset ;p but if I'm on Windows like now typing this text it disapear progressively... It take half an hour until disapear totally, but it's a bit anoying.... I know I live in France but not on the south with cicadas ;)
I think this is not due to the firmware but maybe...
However, all works fine you made an incredible job for us !
Keep working to make this DD experience better for all of us ;) and Thank you so much !
Hope new drivers will work ok! Im disappointed . I was think when i will buy fanatec i dont have issues anymore but its more issues like with thrustmaster!
It has nothing to do with the F1 rim v2, it happened to me both with it and the universal hub. Doesn't seem to be a software issue as it happened to me with several different drivers. I've tried it without fanalabs on and the results were the same. Just got a brand new DD2 and so far so good, but I've only put 15 laps or so, more testing needed but hopefully it will be fine.
We are several people to face the following issue:
Will driving (ACC, iRacing…), the force feedback (DD1 or DD2) gets stuck and the wheel reacts like if it was disconnected (buttons not working anymore, leds are fixed, frozen screen on the base, wheel is keeping turning in last force input given). So the car keeps turning as well…
Fanalab is crashing as well and the base need to be unplugged (not turning off when pushing button) to get reset.
To know: it happened to 4 people that I knowe.
It does not come from Fanalab as 1/4 is not using it
It does not come from the wheel as we are using different ones
So can only come from the base.
We are all running 356 & firmware 670
It personally f***** up my championship race in ACC while I was leading so makes me kinda mad !
I need to RMA my wheel for that? Seriously?? rF2 championships just started, i heard it takes like a month for RMA, this will take me out of contetion on day 1...on an event sponsored by Fanatec.
I'm awlays getting this on the same spot on each track. This time on Silverstone is right after the hairpin(T4). Ricardo, have you witnessed the same issue with your base?
As to being at the same spot on the track, it was something like that indeed but I cannot say precisely. My oppinion is that it has to do maybe with the amont of time since you turn on the base, not the actual spot on the track (doesn't make sense from a hardware prespective). But it has already happened to me shortly after I turn it on and other times that it didn't happen at all.
My oppinion it if it was a software issue, much more people would be reporting it.
Bottom line, I don't what's causing the issue nor nobody from Fanatec was able to tell me.
It's probably the wireless connection with the rim, it's getting lost or interfierd somehow and the rim freezes. Weirdly i have had that after hour and a half in a session. Not only in the beginning still on the same spot on the track and those freezes have been lesser with the 352 driver compared to the 356. Weirdly that problem showed itself after the 356 firmware, i have used the wheel extensively from the beginning of last summer. Have you tried reinstalling Windows, just trying to find something since even after your first RMA you still had it.
Well that's interesting. You write "drivers", did you also try all the firmwares? Which firmware are you on now on your base, motor and wheel? I'm also using a Podium PS4 version but just received a new base since the first I had bricked after upgrading firmwares. I was trying to install the latest firmware and driver to make it compatible with the new Podium Porsche wheel with HUB and PBME.
The newest is firmware 670. The firmware before that was 669. The firmware before that was 664. The firmware before that was 662. Only then 652 or so were released, so it's quite old, at least half a year old if not even much older... ^^ the most recent one added very powerful new features as you can read in the blog post as it was the biggest DD update ever

Is the new driver release still going to be a beta ? After all the trouble I went through I doubt I'll be using any beta drivers.
I totally agree and would like to know too! I guess the best thing to do is let others try first instead of being the first mover.

Hello !
I just want to put my story on the wall hihi ;)

Windows 10 /1909 /18363.657
NO FANALAB SOFTWARE
DD1 PC DRIVER 353 in legacy CSW v2.5 mode
FW 669
WBMF 38
Wheel F1 LM gold
SWF 28
Regarding coil wine you can contact support, there was a batch of power supplies which had that issue.
Interesting that you mainly experience jolts while the tuning menu is open? Something we need to check.
Thank you for this advice :)
And yes I tried it 1h ago to find a right SEN for my F1 and it's happened one more time
`well after 60 mins at the Nurb in the Pro Mazda have to say the jolts were not as bad with INT at 1 instead at OFF
I thought I read somewhere that reducing the INT reduces the "jolting"so I turned it off and maybe thats not a good idea
It's the opposite, reducing INT increases the likelihood of Jolts and INT off should never be used anyway as it's waaaaaaaay to rough.
Some only said reducing FEI down to 80 reduced or even completely eliminated all the jolts.
Marcel Pfister, can we get answer about the rim freeze. Is it driver related or faulty unit and we need to issue RMA?
Hope new drivers will work ok! Im disappointed . I was think when i will buy fanatec i dont have issues anymore but its more issues like with thrustmaster!
Can you be a bit more specific please?
Which rim?
I guess he means the complete freezes some got while using the PBME with the ITM Page.

Ricardo Almeida few post ago, you have said that after the RMA you keep having those issues? Or you have gotten a second RMA?
I'm awlays getting this on the same spot on each track. This time on Silverstone is right after the hairpin(T4). Ricardo, have you witnessed the same issue with your base?
Yeah, 2nd RMA.

No, I haven't.
I have now big issues with csl. 1 hour burthurst in gts wheel felling very strange and losiing FFB and all the time was try to drift and spin.
Hallo. Am i the only one who has no problems with his podium (ps4 pro) or only the pc people have problems.

Motor from Fw.352
Wheel F1 podium
Ps4 pro
No Hub
No Problem with any Game.
Pjc2,Gts,assetto,Dirt4,Dirt 2 ,F1 2019
As your firmware is very very old, you could try one of the more recent ones to see if they even enhances your experience
Das ist die vorletzte Fw.352
Die neue ist doch 356 ,die nix für die ps4 verbessert ! ?
