This is the reason why I don't want to invest more money in Fanatec. I've seen a lot of driver failures here and I expect the same thing to happen to me one day.
When are the new drivers due to be released? Early or late this week?
I can wait, but I have to admit that the button flickering problem is quite annoying when I'm racing (I use the buttons on the back of the car to move the head left and right/rear-view mirror, and now all I get is a flashing image when I press those buttons). Maybe an intermediate hotfix while waiting for these drivers? Thanks a lot!
The new driver is supposed to.be released when the CS DD releases - due to todays delay of the CS DD that means also the driver is delayed by a week.
If the flickering issue is too big for you to live a week with, then please uninstall driver 452 and install 451 again and then downgrade the firmwares.
At the formular v2 the button 6 (push), the button 11 and button 12 (up and down) flickering.
One question. I know it is a release candidate. But why you release a driver and firmware version you know there are such bugs? Why you can‘t wait and solve this first instead of releasing this driver version. These few days more or less to solve this don‘t matter anybody. But now you have lost some more reputation.
It's one thing to release a release candidate with bugs - shit happens. To tell people "there will be a driver next week" and when next week has finally come, postpone it for another week because the new hardware product got delayed is a bad joke. But the icing of the cake is "If the flickering issue is too big for you to live a week with..".
People are living with the Software issue for weeks now and to tell them they have to wait another week because some new hardware got delayed in THAT wording blows my mind. I totally get the post here about the arrogance of the so called "shadow Fanatec staff".
I'm assuming that the new driver hasn't been released as it isn't ready (they've probably broken more things that were previously working!), and it is the lack of a working driver is what is delaying the launch of the new hardware. If there is any potential way to mess up, Fanatec will find it.
yep, I upgraded to 452 and my PC is now no longer seeing my DD1 in PC mode. Only my CS Inverts, which are plugged in separately. Didn't upgrade any of the firmwares, not for the base nor my 3 wheels. It never got that far.
No error message - just "no wheel detected". Downgraded back to 451, and just like the guy above, no change. It broke something. PC Comp mode works, and the Fanatec Control Panel recognizes every other mode as I switch. Except for the one I need. Obviously, everything was working perfectly on 451. I did update Windows, but almost 2 weeks ago, and have driven since then multiple times with no issues on 451.
Nothing wrong with the Driver installation, rebooted immediately. I will note this has never happened before in ~8 years of owning Fanatec wheel bases and 2.5 years of owning this base.
EDIT: Solved after about 2 hours of troubleshooting. Following the second part of this guide got the DD1 base to register again:
It should be noted that the first part of this guide is outdated - the Device Manager is now in Windows Settings and not in the Control Panel, and the right-click ability to "reset to default" no longer exists.
It should also be noted that it took two tries and restarts to get it to work - after uninstalling all Fanatec devices, upon restart, one phantom DD1 entry appeared again. I saw it, uninstalled again, finally got a clear device manager, and reinstalled the driver.
There were 4 different registry points in Device Manager for the DD1 before uninstallation - 2 that just said DD1, and 2 that said "DD1 Playstation Edition". I assume that's for each mode in the DD1, but perhaps there was a duplicate.
Leaving this up for the guy above and anyone who may run into this problem. Uninstall Driver, then uninstall ALL devices with Fanatec in the Device Manager, then reinstall.
Yes Maurice, YOU DID MENTION THE DATE (!!!), as can be seen on the first page of this topic!!! Furthermore you notices in another thread that the delay to 28th doesn't affect existing orders which is also NOT CORRECT. That's why you changed your comment there.
Both the further delay of shipments (cannot play anymore because I relied on the date and sold my CSL DD) but also the delay in the driver release is very dissappointing and not very transparent!
The date I mentioned on page 1 was in direct relation with the CS DD launch (which was originally targeted for Nov 7 and now got pushed back to Nov 28 due to shipment issues in the supply chain).
I'm not sure I understand why a hardware delay necessitates delaying the release of software which (presumably) would be bringing benefits to owners of other products besides the CS DD /CS DD+.
Because the software for other products with fixes for the first two known issues of the first post is not ready, so nothing which could be released early yet.
The MPS on the BMW M4 GT3 Wheel works only in the Encoder Mode anymore. Very annoying, when you try to assign a button in the game and the wheel is sending allways a signal from the MPS when on pulse or constant mode. It had the problem, when trying to assign any control function in my new bought game F123. I thought the game is brocken. So I was asking Steam for a refund and made a bad review about F123. But now I realized when trying it in another game, that the problem is the new driver/firmware. Now I tried to go back to 451, but I was not able to downgrade to old firmware. By the way of course I have also the flickering of the three buttons. It is a shame to release such a bad driver/Firmware.

sorry if this is a simple quesiton! how does one see the dd1 temp and ffb graphs on the app?
This is the reason why I don't want to invest more money in Fanatec. I've seen a lot of driver failures here and I expect the same thing to happen to me one day.
On the Base you need this button combination:
To see this data in the Fanatec Mobile App, you need a new Fanatec App version which should be released this week in the respective App Stores.
thank you! yep want to see it in the app so can wait :)
solved it by deleting the fanatec folder, thanks too much, u're the best 😃🙏🏻

Hello. I think something was said that if everything goes well they could leave tomorrow.

I updated my DD1 to latest (452) driver/firmware last night, all went well after a PC re-boot.
Really happy with way the wheel base now feels, some very good improvements all round!
Updated the Clubsport RS & McLaren wheels, all OK.
I have paused update on the Podium BMW M4 GT3 wheel due to small issues listed above..
Still no QR2 type M for the base.. I ordered last month - Any updates on type M deliveries please Maurice ?
I have no inside Information about shipping, sorry.
What you feel with this driver compare to the previous one?
Can you explain?
Thx
FYI there were no changes to feel, unless of course you updated to the QR2 :D
Nope, i still in QR1 until it's broke or something, very happy with the QR1, no issue :)
you can update your pc as free for win 10, not sure why people still use that

so... Any news about 453? :) Maurice mentioned nov 7
I did not mentioned Nov 7.
I said 453 is targeted to be released with the CS DD. CS DD got delayed due to shipment issues, and so is the driver 453.

We are disappointed as well.
