If it is I deed related to what is on the display then it is a weird issue, you would not think that what you see on a display can cause a knock on your DD. Hopefully fanatec can reproduce it.
Did you test it with wheel base Displaying Fanatec Logo?...This Is How we get to the Final Fanatec that will Bug/Glitch Free.
We all want the same thing but we can't/Should Not Complain if we are Not willing to play our part to get to the Final Solution.. FWIW other Brand DD wheel Dr/Fw was and is exactly the same... We the users find the Bugs that's the Dev's don't.
Yes the process can and maybe a Tad frustrating but IMO the end Result Guaranteed will be well worth it.
Right as for driver ver.352b I couldn't update motor firmware with driver 356 after base firmware. Updater window freezed when I pressed "Connect" and after a minute displayed the message:
"Error: Connect device failed(Error: UartPeripheral() cannot open PC UART port(COM3), speed(19200 Hz).)."
Like I said its the same with any other DD wheel Brand or Electronic device that can or Needs to be updated to improve performance and functionality… The end result is going to be worth it....Bashing, Complaining and moaning about it because we don't have it Now will Not make it happen any faster.
If I were Un Happy with My DD2 I would go the Brand that has everything I want instead of sticking around complaining about the Brand I have that's working to update trying to improve and innovate the Sim Racing market with New products.
When assessing statements like "the end result is going to be worth it", set aside emotion and consider solely that which is observable: is the quality of the software actually getting better? What evidence supports that conclusion?
No please use 347 for CSW and CSL. There where no significant changes or improvements to those bases anyway so you won't miss out if not using 356. The DD is much newer which means had and still has more things we need to polish, that's why it got more updates lately. CSW and CSL ar out for quite some years now and of course need less, not telling there is no work to be done.
DD2 with driver 353 an all FW updated. Tested wheels F1 2018 and Podium Porsche with PBME.
These jolts are in ACC, RaceRoom, iRacing. The jolts are weaker with reduced FEI to 70 but even then I can feel them. It's like you are hitting something where nothing is. It's not always on the same places on the track and sometimes also when standing still. The time between jolts is irregular. Most time I use the FFB and temp screen.
I had absolutely no jolts with the older FW and would use it but I need 353 and the newer FW for my PBME.
I coincidentally made a research about this problem in the past and we figured out, that this is firmware related. The problem is reported to our software developers, but unfortunately we did not get a feedback yet when this problem will be solved. Right now this will happen with any Formula V2 steering wheel.
I hope there will be a new firmware available soon for the steering wheel which solves the problem.
Without knowing the specific issue it's hard to judge. Which of the 5 rotary is not working correctly and what exactly is the issue? Is it missing turns? Are they delayed? Are they not working at all?
As said, every rotary is working fine on my 4 Formula v2 wheels.
That is definitely a hardware issue which definitely can not be fixed by firmware. You should contact the support again so they can exchange your wheel but I think this affects almost every wheel unfortunately.
I installed the latest driver 356 as, i didn't get a response but, the 347 don't support the fanalab. Now I cann't update motor base hangs up and I have to restart my PC. How do I delete the driver and rollback? It just installed there was no hex file to input.
This is frustrating thanks for the late reply any help now or suggestions?
Yes. I have already discussed this internally as I was one of the first who found that issue and I was told this is hardware related and no fix with a firmware will be possible but this should affect almost every wheel so don't know if an exchange makes sense.. But you can try.
I was able to load the file and unable to load motor driver screen hangup after selecting update motor then never responds as window says not responding. The wheel feels like it's on -5 on the drift setting on all settings. i was hoping to get this working as I wanted to upgrade to DD1 but, wanted to try software out first. I looks like the Menu is way different than the DD1. I want to roll the drive back How it says latest drive is installed?
Thats always been quite normal mate, they often just plain ignore problems until enough people complain about the same thing...
Hence why they continue to release nothing but BETA drivers, they offer no support for those and have a disclaimer that states this... so we go AGES without a real full driver, with the last being v335 and that version does not support all current hardware.
kinda forced to use the BETA and just live with the lack of support i guess.... Youd think by now theyd be able to get things right...
I have tried reflashing firmwares, clearing driver completely and reinstalling, remove and replace hub or wheel, nothing changes... still faulty.
i have issues with v345 as well where buttons will just stop working but you can still steer and FFB still works, even the funky switch still works....
v335 seems to work ok with minimal issues... i say minimal because it sure isnt issue free... it still has the loss of button function at random times, even whilst sitting in Windows desktop, so its not a connection issue caused by FFB.
would be nice if Fanatec got their act together and released actual release drivers instead of just adding useless features to BETA drivers that cause more troubles, how bout you get things working properly?
i dont really know of any other company that releases nothing but BETAs with no proper drivers for god knows how long... Not one single one of these BETAs i have tried has been anything close to a stable release, let alone problem free... v345 seems the best of a bad bunch...
I'll forward it, this was an issue previously but was solved for many already with the latest update, weird that you still have it.
Looks like you are in COMP V2.5, I'll try if that has something to do with it. Until that's solved you could either use the wheel or FanaLab to adjust the Tuning Menu. This issue alone shouldn't be a deal breaker to use the new driver I would say.
Yep, I was able to roll back to 347 and it's working, but does not support Fanalabs.Happy it works now yet, feeling dissapointed about not being able to use Fanalabs. I'll be holding off on my DD1 wheel till after they release something that works.

Solved it thanks to that tread https://www.reddit.com/r/Fanatec/comments/c4e6eg/csl_elite_ps4_cannot_open_pc_uart_port_when/
All You need is to find the correct USB port.
In what way is it "guaranteed"?

I told you it's the same with 356 wtf? My base is jolting every few minutes with 352 and 356 on any screen. Satisfied?

If you have a CSW V2.5 use a previous driver like 347
Oh, so it was still happening with 356? I'll forward this information to our developers, thank you!
Really interesting Comment.
I have the CSL Elite (PS4) and I have found the v352 and Firmware's to be the best of the bunch (and currently what I am using).
v346 was okay with minimal issues but with Motor Firmware v22 had the notchie feeling.
v347 just failed, would not work even on a clean install of Windows 10 (several attemps were made).
v352 works well, noticeable response improvement to on screen action and not noticeable notching.
Each install was performed the same way with the exception of v347 after the first install fail was installed on fresh Windows.
Windows 10 - 64bit - v1909
CSL elite v1.1 (ps4) with P1 Wheel and Elite Loadcell pedals.
Driver v352
WB FW: 669
Motor FW: 22
LC Pedal FW: 1.9
AC and ACC settings - both locked at 100 FPS with Gsync on 144hrz monitor.
Sen 090, FF 100, Dri-02, FEI 060, For 100, Spr Off, dPr Off, Abs off, Sho 100.
Is the rotary problem of formula v2 being worked on?
Which one?
a rotary failed me, I spoke with technical service, and I commented that it was a firmware failure, that they passed it to software for a solution.
Cheers
Sounds like a hardware issue, my rotary are working fine, so no firmware issue.
I definitely have this jolts also.

the one on the left, when it does 4/5 R and you stop pressing it gives you a false L

Sounds like Fanatec tech support need some upskilling on hardware issues..
I would not use 347 on the CSL elite - 346 had less issues - and make sure motor driver V20 as the other motor drivers are way too notchy
