I wouldn't recommend that, the firmwares from one driver are designed to work with one or another, mixing different firmwares from different drivers isn't recommended at all.
I tried it last night to fix my wheel lag & it worked but if say it will give me problems I have not noticed yet I go back to 380 or 381 which one is the recommended one for PS4 CSL Elite ClubSport Formula V2 wheel non LC?
I've getting the "CAUTION! Torque Key Inserted!" message on my Porsche BME screen mid-race. I think it started with this latest batch of updates (399-402). Last night it caused me to be distracted enough that I went off-track mid-corner and wrecked. It's almost as if the BME is resetting, but the wheel itself seems to perform fine during these events (I can still steer). It's just incredibly distracting, as I think the FFB torque is reduced until I press the joystick to clear it.
I'm using:
DD1
Porsche BME
PC driver: 402
WB FW: 684
SW FW: 17
Hub FW: 5
WQR FW: 6
I've only seen this happen about 10-15 times over the past ~2 months, so it's not frequent, but it's also not a one-off error.
Agreed. But if I remove the wheel and inspect it I can't find any physical issues (pins all look fine). And if it were actually a physical connection problem I'd expect it to happen far more often.
Could be software, but then more people would have this problem. I have the same setup (DD1 and BME) and I have yet to get one single mid race torque key message.
Never seen that message on my DD1/PBME combo, but I'm still on driver 381.
Have you tried rolling back to that driver/firmware to see if the problem is still there? If you roll back and still get the message that points to a hardware failure.
It could be a physical issue causing the wheel to lose connection, or it could be interference in the USB signal. I had the same issue for months and it was driving me mad. I was convinced it was a hardware issue, or a Fanalab issue (it would stop seeing my PBME for a second at the same time - reporting only the podium hub). My issue turned out to be due to my usb cable between the base and the PC being routed alongside power and hdmi cables. I replaced the USB cable with a well shielded replacement and the problem disappeared.
I've posted on here about my issues - if you search you can find the details.
Hello, I have not received any reports by email about new posts in the forum for weeks. Is it the same for others or has Fanatec discontinued this service? Thank you very much
As a theory it has merit, even if it might be unintuitive - first thoughts for most are understandably hardware issue.
In practice though it is a solution - at least for me. And I'm more interested in practice than theory. Hope you see some improvement - the issue was driving me mad, sure it is you too.
Lately, the steering wheel also causes EXTREME FPS break-ins in IRacing every 4-5 races as soon as I steer. As soon as I steer my FPS falls into the basement, as well as the graphics card is totally busy. I stop moving the steering wheel and everything goes back to normal. As soon as I restart the wheelbase this error disappears.
Likewise, since the new IRACING update Fanalab regularly crashes, the steering wheel also passes commands in IRacing although I don't press buttons
ofc this isn't normal lol. Did you check the USB cable is properly plugged in? Is just the wheel or the whole base disconnecting? Does the base work after a couple of seconds again?
Comments
Anybody know how to fix it? Went back to 381 and firmware 680 and still have this issue.
I noticed the comments about not using this update on the PS4 CSL Elite ClubSport wheel & I should use 381.
But looking at 381 notes I don't see any mention of the V2 wheel.
So what is the solution?
When I use the 381 I get the lag issue on all dials so what do I do to fix that issue?
DO I use 381 for the base & use 402 or 401 for the wheel?
You can only use one driver, not multiple ones
Let me make it clear for you.
You can use say firmware 373 for the base & then only update the wheel with say firmware 400.
I wouldn't recommend that, the firmwares from one driver are designed to work with one or another, mixing different firmwares from different drivers isn't recommended at all.

381 is the current official driver, go with that one.
Thanks
Since we have no update arriving for a while & Since 381 has the button lag bug what will happen if I change the 38 wheel driver with the 40?
I expect I won't damage the hardware & just issue with the different versions connecting with each other?
I ask because the button lag is a problem especially with the few 2hr races I have coming up.
PS4 with Ps4 CSL Elite ClubSport Formula V2 wheel non LC.
I noticed on a review the LCD on the formula V2 shows gears but not on PS4 in that a firmware issue or PS4 not giving Information?
Depends on the game on ps4 if the game Developer has implemented this feature.

Any ideas? Is this a known issue?
Thanks
Yea I guess 505 didn't add it like many things that pc version has compared to console
That seems like wheel looses connection with the base...

It can be a problem in the base and not the wheel...
I'm not from Fanatec, but what you describe seems a connection loss...
Contact support, it's best you can do...
But it can also be a software problem. It didn't show up until this latest firmware.
Really hoping for one of the few Fanatec folks in the thread to chime in with their thoughts on this.

Its a known issue for 2 months now, no ETA when its going to be fixed.
Thank you Maurice
Thanks Gary- I'll take a look at how I'm routing the USB cables. Not a bad theory!

hi guys,
im running the 402 update.
i have dd1, whenever im using it, im losing resistance and torque on my f1 podium wheel, it keeps on disconnecting everytime im driving. is it normal?

This BUG Come from Windows Update. Look here https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/comment/63763#Comment_63763
