I currently use the 439 driver and I would have liked to be able to update it in order to use the new version of Fanalabs because the one corresponding to the 439 driver is buggy (does not automatically load the profiles).
Currently I have no issues, no jerking on iracing and no blowing fan on startup.
If I update, will these problems appear or not?
With the shaking issue mentioned above, the 443 won't become official, will it?
Nobody can tell you if issues will appear as not everyone has the issues.
But the only "new" issue of the current Driver and Firmware is the issue that the Fan can very rarely spin at 4000RPM for 1 second after boot. That's it. Nothing dramatic.
And because there are no major new issues there is currently absolutely no reason why 443 would not become "official".
I wanted to Jump in this and say that I was not able to open the fanatec control panel for the last 3 or 4 updates and tried everything. downloading this allowed me to open it again, thank you.
Such a thing like a "flawless" driver will never exist. Its Software - every piece of Software has bugs. It is simply impossible to have a 100% completely flawless version. If you want to wait for a completely flawless version then I fear you will have to wait forever.
And the Input Jump issue which you most likely mean can also happen with the old Driver/Firmware and the likeliness on the old version is even bigger.
So if I would be you I would update - now - and then enjoy FanaLab again.
Appreciate you guys here, came from DD1 442 and unit had just gone to a vibrating update mode. Followed the recovery instructions for 443 and was golden, keep it up.
Curious issue I am having. On a DD1 base with Podium 911 GT3 BME. Just updated successfully to 443. When setting Sensitivity to AUTO and save profile to Fanalab, it is setting rotation to 2360.
Fanalab v. 1.63.6
Driver v. 443
Are there any known compatibility issues between Driver 443 and this Fanalab version?
Quick question, I read there was a major(?) FFB rewrite for Podium DD, if I update to this from 439 will I see any difference or was the rewrite included with 439? I have a DD2 I bought fairly recently so the only driver I have ever used is the 439 one.
I just tried to update. I got to updating my wheel it saw it as a McLaren wheel at first then it switched to a formula v2 and it encountered an error, I was asked to turn off my base and when I turned it back on it kept hanging up at the same point I tried to go back to driver 439 and now it won’t do anything It keeps telling me I have a newer driver and I need driver 442
When sich a thing happens please do NOT go back to an older driver. This new driver has everything included to get everything back running again with all the added troubleshooting Tools like the steering wheel Recovery Tool which you need to run in this Situation!
So update again to 443 and follow the troubleshooting tips with the steering wheel Recovery Tool.
I tried all the ways but I tried to return to the starting point, the problem I had was in driver 442, so I installed that firmware in the base since the base firmware allows me to install.
Then it restarts, turn the steering wheel to the right half a turn and the base screen turns off, the firmware updater opens with the following error:
error: connect device failed(error: initial ping failure:No response received for ping command).
The most I managed to do was the following:
install the 326Beta driver firmware, when it restarts it turns on half a turn but the screen does not turn off, then I install the 443 driver and when entering it shows me that the motor firmware is 3.0.0.1 and the wireless qr firmware is 0.
But then when entering the firmware manager it puts the firmware that is updated to the latest version.
I am attaching photos so you can understand me better since I don't know English and I use the translator to translate it from Spanish.
Sounds like a defect, if the base display is dark and the wheel attached not working.
What you could try turning off the base and then starting it by pressing and holding the power button for 10seconds. This would force a firmware update but if nothing is happening, then the base seems bricked and you should contact support by opening a ticket on the "my products" page of the shop when being logged in.
What do you mean with vibrating update mode? I know that most Formula V2 vibrate during the firmware update which is normal but maybe you mean something else.
Thanks for the pictures, it looks like only the base firmware update is missing and then it should work normally again. But you say there is an error message during the base firmware.
Give this a try where possible:
Different USB port (USB 2.0/3.0, Front USB or mainboard, USB card if available)
Different PC/Laptop
On the Settings page of the driver is a button to export log files, you can attach them to a post here.
If at the same time the base is not recognized by the PC and the forced base firmware update is not working then like mentioned in my previous post you need to open a support ticket on the "my products" page of the webshop
I did update on pedals with loadcell with usb but on csl elite ps4 says No device fanatec found ... I tried all instructions but nothing change. ... Its problem of my pc?? If i try different pc should be ok?

Hello, thank you very much for answering.
Right now the base turns on and turns to the right and the base screen turns off, but if you turn it is harder than off.
Put the steering wheel that you put does not turn on any.
It is with the 442 driver working perfectly until this happened to me, then I installed many drivers to see if I could get something but nothing.
i'm so lost.

Alright, so it's random.
It's more the default that some have on iracing that makes me cautious.
Too bad my version of fanalab is buggy, I'll wait until a flawless driver comes out.

It's true.
Thank you for these additional details, it's always cool to benefit from your experience and knowledge!

Might be because your FanaLab is incompatible.
You have to use FanaLab 1.65 with Driver 443 as explained (and linked) in the first post.
Ah crap....how the hell did I miss that. 😅
As with 442, no real glaring issues here. The minor disconnect feel I had on 442 is gone. two thumbs up for that.
CSL DD (original release base)

CSL ps4
v3 pedals
McLaren V1 wheel
shifter
how do I fix it?
The re-write was implemented first with 442. 439 uses the old code.

Here's a video of what the base currently does.
That definitely looks like a hardware issue and you should contact the support.
In F1 22 some buttons are not working properly, particularly the one circled in red and the right center paddle in podium advanced paddle module.
downagraded to the 429 driver (in witch everything is working perfectly) again.
Have you installed the new version of fanalab 1.65 apart from de 443 driver?
Sounds like a defect, if the base display is dark and the wheel attached not working.

Your McLaren V1 was shown as a Formula V2 by the driver or the updater?
Do you have a screenshot?
What do you mean with it doesn't do anything anymore? Is the base not detected by the driver but working or something else?
Please go a bit into detail so I can understand the situation better. Add screenshots where you can.

That should not make a difference regarding the button inputs
Is this only in-game or can you also see the inputs not working on the steering wheel page of the driver control panel?
