With the new Firmware i have a Problem with a wandering center on my csl elite, i practically cant't drive in a straight line anymore. if i revert back to the old driver/firmware all is fine, but i cant use the Mclaren rim anymore.
Having issues with my wheel also, wheel will not update just flashes the Fanatec log, also wheel forces the camera to look to the rear of the car, even when pressing the change view button.
Re map the Look Back Button... That Happend to Me... I had Look back mapped to the Paddle and when i switched to a Diff rim to compare feel is when it happened. So if your Going to be switching rims to drive different cars same game you have to make sure you work out button mapping to a config/Common buttons both rims have.

Thanks for the reply Lorrell I will check out the mapping of the look back button, but I use VR so nothing should be mapped for look back.

Please do, it will solve the issue I think.
I had look up/down/left/right mapped to the joystick on my Porsche 918 and Formula Carbon wheels and when trying the McLaren rim, I started looking trough the left window (triple screens), my dashboard was visible in the right screen.
Only remapping the functions solved it.
But - as I now found - switching rims will force me to remap the functions each time. Wish Fanatec had included the analog joystick on this McLaren wheel.
You can Map Look back and all is well... I had Look Back Mapped to the Right Paddle then switched rims to test difference in Lap times/Wheel feel this is when the look back issue happend... I Realized right away what was going on the Hub W/Forza rim doesnt have the 2nd set of paddles so i remapped the Look Back button on the Fly and all was well....When i switched back to the McClaren Rim i mapped Look back to the Right paddle again and all is well and works as it should.
***the 2nd paddle set and Rotary switches should Not be Mapped to anything because No other Rim Has those Buttons if you want to change rims on the Fly without having to remap those buttons every time you change rims***
Thanks Lorrell and Willy, that actually worked, not sure why those were mapped since I don't use them. I am still having an issue with getting the rim to update so not all of the function work, but at least I can use it.
The firmware update should work fine without any issues. Did you check the 'how to...' video from SimRacingGirl? First updatw the base without the rim. Then attach the rim to the base and restart the control panel app again in order to update the rim firmware.
Hi Thorsten, yes I did watch the setup video that's located on the download page of the Fanatec wheel page. I got the wheel base to update to the new firmware, then attached the wheel, opened the driver app again, a pop-up states the wheel needs an update but when I click yes the power button on the base flashes in a circle, the Fanatec logo flashes on the wheel but the dialog box with the connect and flash buttons never comes up. I have left the wheel in this state for over an hour and nothing changes. Some of the buttons on the wheel can't be mapped and the drift function has the old features so I know the wheel is not updated.

You should be able to map all buttons on PC even with the "old" pre-installed firmware v19.
And what do you mean with "old features of the drift mode"? Drift mode cant be changed with a rim update because that is base firmware controlled.
I just received the McLaren GT3 rim. At first time it was not recognized by the CSW V2. Made the firmware update and everything was fine.
I just have two issues and wanted to know if some of you have experienced the same. - In Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One, the D PAD seems to be blocked on the UP input. I can't move down in the menu, it always comes back to the upper position.
- regarding the clutch bite-point mode, I am not sure to have it worked. I fully pressed the two paddles, then I released the left one and adjusted the right one to 50 on the screen. If I understood I will have to press the left one another time while keeping the right one to 50. When I will release the left one it will automatically come to 50 ?
Thank you very much for your help. Good race to all.

When I had the V2 wheel base the only thing I could change with drift was to make it off or +1-5. When I got my V2.5 base I could go from off to + or - 1-5, I now only can change it to off or + 1-5. The 2 dials in the center of the and the two additional panels will not map.

But that is not an issue with the McLaren firmware. The pre-installed firmware (I guess v19) will display the drift mode just fine. The issue is more on the base side. I would suggest to re-flash the base firmware again. Maybe even a driver uninstall and reinstall.
Missing negative drift values are related to a not-detected motor driver in most cases. Sometimes a base firmware flash will solve this issue. If not, you should contact the support. What values are displayed in the McLaren OLED display after base boot?

Thanks I did a complete uninstall of the old driver app in first setting up the wheel and when it didn't work correctly I uninstall the new one and reinstalled it, I have started the process from start to finish twice with the same results. I Don't think its the base, when I attach my Universal Hub, the drift function works as it should with + & - settings available. The values displayed when I turn on the base are:
I can't seem to get my McLaren wheen to boot into connect properly. I'm trying to update its firmware but all it ever does once connected is spin back and forth, stop for a second or two and start again. Tried putting into Xbox mode by hitting N and Y at the same time but it didn't do anything. Anyone else having issues on the Xbox. This is using V2.5 base with 317 firmware.
Just to verify, the two encoder buttons in the center can be mapped also or is this something a future update will add functionality for? Currently these and the secondary padel will not map for me in RaceRoom, haven't tried the wheel with any of the others yet.

You need to update your wheel base firmware to 446 before you can use the McLaren rim. Otherwise you will end up in this endless boot-loop.
To do so you need to install the latest driver v310, connect ONLY your wheel base WITHOUT the McLaren attached. Only then the Property window will open so you can update the wheel base firmware to v446. After that you can attach your McLaren rim to update the rim firmware to v23.
Fanatec also did a YouTube tutorial for this, maybe you should have a look at their YouTube channel.

The games need to be updated to get the Multi-Position-Switches working properly.
In iRacing you can use them for example to map the different black boxes so they are mappable if the game properly supports these.
Any updates on the Podium DDs? I'm upgrading my chassis this week. When the Podiums series was first introduced, I thought I'd be upgrading both at the same time, but it seems to be getting pushed further and further, and there's just so little information on the Podium DD. Can't find anything regarding performance.
it was said that the DD base would be on sale Summer 2018.... But thinking about it in Real life production terms i think it will follow the CSR Elite (<-- Yes No typo CSR Elite... You would have to have been around for a while to know) and McClaren rim it will be for pre order only and i wouldn't expect to have the DD base in My hands until just before Christmas. Id rather have a Base thats Fully tested and foul proof than to have a base that works for 1 month then its gotta go back for a few weeks for repair.... I just Upgraded from the RSeat RS1 to the RSeat N1 <--- Much more Room and much more Comfortable so Im really looking forward to the Fanatec DD also....the v2.5 is GREAT and the DD is supposed to be better @-) I may Never Leave My Man Kave once i get the DD 8-} Patience patience patience its hard but i know its going to be worth the wait \:D/
Yeah Yeah, the Podium DD....I guess it will take a bit longer as planned. I guess I would like to upgrade later aswell from the CSL Elite to the Podium DD once I will move from console to the PC. The problem then will be that I need to upgrade also to a new stable rig, I guess a DD wheelbase ( even the smaller DD ) will tear my PLAYSEAT rig apart in small bits and pieces )
It would be my 3rd FANATEC wheelbase, I never tried a DD wheel anyway so far, I would like to feel the difference and test it before purchasing, but where to test it?

Last year, they have been on the SimRacing Expo at the Nürbugring - But I don't know if they will be there this year too. I think as soon as it is announced/released, there will be a few roadshows where you can test it.
Same issue with the rig. I want a more stable platform, so I'm upgrading to the SimLab P1. It's between Fanatec and Accuforcce for the base. I'm interested to see if the Podium series servo motor outperforms the AF hybrid.

Hi Patrick, yes I have seen some videos about Podium DD and the Nürburgring Sim Racing Expo. Last year I did not make it, but this year I hope I can go there to that Expo and hopefully the Podium DD will be there again to test.
I am curious what kind of new rims FANATEC will announce for the PODIUM series.
For the future I would hope that FANATEC will sell a moving motion sim rig. I am interested in a motion rig as a future investment later next years maybe, right now they are really very expensive, but might be that the prices could drop a bit.

Also waiting for the Podium base (and wheels). I am using the SimLab P1. If you go that way, it might be useful to know that there is no official Fanatec answer on how the Podium base can be mounted (or more exact: if it is going to be possible or not to front mount them like the V2's). Since I got no clear answer here, I mailed Fanatec Customer service and they answered it was not clear yet...
Should front mount not be possible, I will need to change my actual front mount steer bracket for another one.

The second paddles will Map in Race Room, Pcars2 etc.... in order to map the secondary paddles in any game you Must have the Paddle mode switch -->the Blue marked encoder switch in the "D" position --> positions A,B,C are preset and can Not be mapped.
so far I'm using the right paddle for look back and its working great!!! using VR in online Multi player to be able to use the right paddle to look back with No button searching it's really boosting confidence going into corners because i can better judge when and where i need to Brake or Move to avoid 1st corner Rammers and take out Specialist!!!
The top 2 rotary encoder switches i recommend connecting wheel to PC and setting them to the 11 switch position this means position 1= Off for Now until games are optimized to use them...Hopefully games will get optimized to use them soon but until then its just really cool to know that they can and do work depending on game optimization <--- All other Rims with rotary encoders the encoder knob is just there for looks and has no use Not Now Not ever.

Could save some money when you keep that in mind
SimLab updated the product page to show Podium DDs, but only for the wheel deck version. The front mount still only shows CSW V2. They're probably waiting to see the form factor. If it doesn't fit the current, they might offer a different new bracket for the Podiums.
